Utage Japanese Restaurant also in City Square serves up ono grindz. We were in City Square late one afternoon and most places were closed but Utage was open so we wandered in there at 5:30 and it was full and we we needed reservations. They squeezed us in though if we could finish in 1:15 minutes.Ahi tempura was a big serving and reasonable price. very nice service too

WOW everything looks so good. The bakery 🥯🧁 goods I could honestly smell as you were eating it, but I would pack on the pounds if I ate all that great stuff. OMG SEAN !!! You're right City Square is indeed a hidden gem. I was in Waikiki for 6 days 01.05.23 - 01.11.23 and we wound up coming 4 days out the 6. 01.06.23 - Pancakes & Waffles I ordered the Honey Glaze Chicken Waffles. You were right their chicken is SOOOOOO CRISPY the waffles were good my only complaint was they put TOOO MUCH honey on my waffles and I really couldn't eat it. 01.07.23 - Kamehaheha Bakery I had the Poi Malasadas IT WAS AMAZING !! I can't even begin to tell you Sean how light and fluffy it tasted. Again, you are right their price is beyond reasonable.

Try Elwin's Bakery in the Kapalama Shopping Center. Haven't tried everything but so far i like the savory curry doughnut and anpan. The green pandan mochi-ish bar shaped dessert at that Asian store across from the old char har sut manapua place in Chinatown is addictive.

I dated a guy from Hawaii in 2002 and his sister taught me a few dishes and introduced me to LauLau 🤤🤤🤤 and I don’t remember the name of the buns, but it was a sweet bread filled with pork - and they were 🔥🔥 too!
