Between the 9’4”, is the 9’8” too big for a shorter rider 5’6”?

All depends on what size longboard or log you usually ride. I have many petite women that ride 96 and 98 Volant logs they do OK with it and they love it. So if you're used to only riding something that's up to 96 I would grab the 9'4 and if you like the length and you're used to riding something like a log the 98., so there's really no correct answer. It just depends on your style of bored, and what you're used to. - David
