You are an awesome teacher! As a beginner (and I really mean beginner - no music education at all) I often get really overwhelmed, but I don't feel that way when I learn from your videos. Thanks so much!!!

Very amazing how you did this...showed there was a problem, show how to fix it BUT not by being a know-it- all. You stayed humble & I appreciate your lesson, though reproducing it physically? I am not ready but the effect is Fantastic.

I'm a beginner and I'm so happy I came across this video I get so frustrated trying to learn how to play the ukulele through videos that I just do random things like this strumming pattern and im glad to hear that its actually a real. Thing or sound. I can't play any songs but I can make up strumming patterns with no words whoop whoop. Mahalo you is the bomb

I like it! Thanks. I've been asked to play reggae. It's so rigid to me. Your drum hand inspired me. I'll be back! ~ 🌺

Glad you made this video Aaron, cos I play it the way you are teaching it here with the muting and percussive strums, which gives it more of a Reggae feel. I feel I've been validated bro! from Aaron 'azza' Paterson, Rockhampton 'Rock Vegas', Queensland, Australia. Aloha to all
@JustinHeiningerVT6 жыл бұрын
Although I only picked up the Ukulele a year ago, I'm a huge reggae head (roots reggae). I found this really helpful. I'm still trying to get chucking down, but have also been working on fingerpicking and general muting at the same time, so I'm going to work some of your technique into the mix. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.

I'm telling you here & you better listen...you wrongly called yourself a reggae hack! Not so! You achieve a very intricate & involving sound to illustrate reggae to us "uke- learners". If we can absorb a little of this, we can try to polish up our amateurish attempts. Your stuff here is very fine

Happy to find you! Thx for actually teaching some unique knowledge and curiosity and creativity. Not just a song. Mike love is dope for sure! He’s definitely roots. You like Mishka too? Been getting more into him. Any other recommendations for some real reggae artists? I’ve been with all the majors for so long likepepper Rebelution and such. . Just today I was telling myself man I need to use a metronome more. So did the guys I was jamming with. I’ think focusing on ukulele will improve my strum. Been playing since I was 18. Unfortunately I broke my pinky a year ago and it healed in a weird rotation and hypertension. Still been debating on rebreaking it with surgery but man would suck if it made it worse. Im 33. Love ukulele and all reggae music. Mostly all acoustic player
