Matt, I'm impressed. I'm learning to improve my basic strums, and I obviously have much to learn. I'll be looking for more of your uke tutorials. Thanks

Matt can you help us in India to get ukes like the one you are playing on. Your tutorial is awesome....I am going to learn this strumming pattern.

Hi Matt, Thanks so much for this strum! As I could play both rasgeado move (took me a year of daily exercises) and chuck, I am able to play this wonderful pattern right away. Sounds wonderful. Greetings from The Netherlands !

are using a tenor or concert? or baritone?
@MattDahlberg10 ай бұрын
Tenor!

@@MattDahlberg great thanks. wasn't sure what size of uke it was. I have a concert. this might be a little harder to do on a smaller size uke like a concert or soprano

Can the sweep start from the index and then end with the pinkie
@MattDahlberg Жыл бұрын
I strongly advise against it. I know it can feel more intuitive at first, but the problem is it turns the hand the wrong direction and will make it very difficult to use other techniques following it.

That's awkward beginning with the pinky finger, it works easier just by flowing naturally from the middle finger in a flick motion toward the pinky.....why complicate it unnecessarily..are you mis-leading unsuspecting beginners...?..💫
@MattDahlberg Жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I don’t understand what you mean. Leading with the pinky provides a clear cascading of the four fingers for this effect. Leading with a different finger will either complicate things or will position the hand incorrectly for follow up techniques. There are always multiple ways to do things, but this method is one I’ve used for over a decade to great success for students. In no way will it “mislead” a beginner, but feel free to do it the way you’d like to. 👍
