Learning to play the Ukulele is FAR easier than it was learning to play the Bass. I like the way you explain how. Easy to follow, easier to retain knowledge. Thank you for making learning fun and easy.

Aloha! This is a lot so I apologize in advance. I have a question about the two-finger strum or double strum. I can do the technique and I'm happy with my results so far but every video I watch says to use the index finger as the main finger for strumming. I find it more comfortable to use my middle finger instead. Do I need to break this habit or is that okay? I also strum down with my middle finger, down with my thumb, and then back up with my thumb. So it's all wrong haha but it sounds okay. Love the videos by the way.
@conditionedby4 жыл бұрын
You can do whatever that you are comfortable with but for me i used to go down with my thumb and up with my index, it's okay but when you need to do faster strumming or certain strumming patterns that require a little more speed it's hard to do it with two fingers but if you can mange that then bravo and keep playing.

Iv been playing guitar for a little move 10 years and I just ordered a sapele ukulele the bird and flower design do u know if it is a suitable uke to learn on as far as holding tune and sounding decent at least didn't want to spend a lot of money. And not being able to transition between the 2
@HawaiiMusicSchool6 жыл бұрын
worst Aloha! I'm not familiar with a Sapele Ukulele with a bird and flower, but I've seen two that look identical. Zebra and Irin. Looks like decent quality, but I couldn't give a fair assessment without playing one. Although both ukuleles were sopranos... I, as a guitar player myself, prefer the Tenor size... Just feels more substantial I guess. Good thing is it'll make you a better guitarist if you learn the overlap!

If it's hurting on your strumming hand, try using the back of your nail to strum down, and the flesh of your finger to strum up. Make sure not to use the side of your finger, as that can be painful.
