That'd be great to have George from 4-Max on, Chris! I had a long and illuminating chat with him about the power for this coming winter's build. Good luck with the plastic bits!

He is a great guy and said he would love to come on, so we will arrange a Sunday night or something. He has a huge knowledge about power systems. Fun Fun with plastic, you have a great day 🫡

I laughed my butt of during the first minute. Looks like you're going to do fine with the plastic bits.

It's funny how some jobs can phase you out!! I get like that Chris, and then when you actually do it, it turns out to be very easy Lol Great job 😀👍

Yup, crazy how it makes you feel, but it was easy, just not very good moulds. It’s all a learning process, but fun as well. Hope you have a great Sunday. 🫡

It's funny how little things can stop assembly for weeks, but you cracked it now well done FYI my TN Hunter has a 70 mm fan with a 60 mm exhaust. Also I wouldn't have thought that taking a slot out of the inlet ring will have much effect but what do I know 🤔😁👍
@DadsRCHangar6 ай бұрын
I posted on the RC Forums, so we see what they say. Yup it was easier than I thought with the mouldings, they are not the best thou, but it’s fun making them fit. I will put that on the back burner while I get a response from the forums, need to finish my Boat as well. 😊. Have a fun weekend Cliff.

Something else to consider re the inlet ring Chris, in my Habu edf the fan didn't have an inlet ring because the foam moulded fuselage led from the external inlets directly (and smoothly) straight into the fan. If your plastic parts do the same then the inlet ring on the edf unit isn't needed. In fact I would think it would be an area of air disruption trying to join the two parts together. When I fitted the edf unit into my TN Hunter I didnt have any fancy plastic inlets like you've got in your kit, the edf unit sits on its own in the squareish fuselage, in this case an inlet ring is essential (I fabricated one). You may want to pose the question on the rc groups edf page, they were extremely helpful to me, cheers.

Interesting thoughts Cliff, I will make a post later today, maybe that’s why the original fan housing does not have a lip, and some pictures on RC Groups also do not have that lip. Maybe I could just sheet the inside, then I would not need the plastic and make a nice round edge, who knows 😀

You might find it easier next time using scissors to cut off the surplus material. Great to see you getting stuck in mate. Plastic weld is my choice of glue for plastic sheet.
@DadsRCHangar6 ай бұрын
I was not sure what to use, I had this glue (Silicon Sealant) so I thought I would give it a go. Yup experimenting and learning, what this build is about. Have a great Sunday 🫡

Chris getting worried about bits before you build them is always fun. Now how can I click the Comment button? Jeff in LA USA
@DadsRCHangar6 ай бұрын
You are so right, I still enjoy the build now I started fooling around with the plastic, does not help they are bad moulds really and different to the plans. But that’s fun doing your own changes to make it work. Have a great day Jeff. And you lost the comment button? I will catch up with your show later, been working all weekend 🥺.

@@DadsRCHangar Chris I had 8 successful flights 4 with my trusty F38 flying wing, three flights on my Airoso and a flight with my 330 extra OS 91 4 stroke only stopped flying that as the wing bolt started to come loose didn't want the wing to come off easy repair.
