You've done a fantastic job with this hurricane. It looks excellent! I'm not going to tell you how you should have it as its your model but just a bit of history for ya. This livery I believe is from the Paris air show. This means it would've been kept very clean.

Hi David- Thanks for making the video, it's appreciated. I noticed on the topside of the hurricane you used what looked like a mix of thinned oil paint, but on the bottom side you used (what looked like) Tamiya panel line wash. I'd like to know your opinion... when do you use which one, and what's the difference? Thanks!
@iangoldstraw60025 жыл бұрын
The door on the right side of the cockpit is not a hinged access door, its a push out panel to ease the pilot, if he has to bail out... Nice model though

Liked the tip about re-sizing the colour plan and cutting stencils from it, but how exactly do you do that? Is it something you can do on a Scanner perhaps? Pardon my ignorance here but I have no idea how to do it!
@TheModelGuy5 жыл бұрын
You have to measure the image between two panel lines, then measure the model. Figure out the size difference (divide the model measurement by the photo) and then print at that size. Ie print at 133%.

Hurricanes were slower than Spitfires, so RAF sent them after the slower German bombers and the Spitfires went after the German fighters. Of course everyone shot at any target they could get. Great build as always. Thank you.

Hi! Very nice, I couldn't match your build in 100 year. I started plastic modelling mainly aircraft since I'm 11 year old. I stopped modelling when I'm 17. Although I still got a dozen of model unfinished. Still in the box. I've never buy a Hurricane before but I love it. I'm now in 50's and to start back in modelling may seems a daunting task. So now I'm in RC aircraft, flying a foamie, since it's more affordable and not so time consuming affairs to me. Sorry...

@idaemonplasmo9 жыл бұрын
+Peter Ruman It's hard to say, but bottom camouflage definitely not. There are two variants light green or aluminum. I prefer aluminum, because you can see that on many original hurricanes.

Very nice build :) I have a small question btw, do you wipe the oil wash away right after you painted it on the modell or do you wait for it to dry and wipe it off with a wet towel after that?
@Frserthegreenengine3 жыл бұрын
Usually you wait for like an hour or so (you could wait for up to a few days, oil paints it normally dries properly in like 5-10 days) and then start wiping it with a dry towel if you want a worn look. But if you want the wash to only stay in the panel lines and keep the rest of the model pristine then you probably should wet the towel with a bit of enamel thinner and then wipe it down.

Amazing paint job! But I wonder why do you made almost all your models so dark? I like the worn look but you use too dark warnish IMHO. Colours shall be lighter for the scale model compared to the prototype to give a feeling of size and distance. Your models are extremely detailed but too contrast colors made them a toy look. Or maybe it's something with my monitor ;)

Hi Martin, another fantastic build! The masking you create from the paper cut outs looks to work a treat. I have a couple of questions for you regarding the weathering (which would be fantastic if you could go into more detail in your builds). What do you use for your washes? You say it's an oil wash but it looks like a Tamiya bottle? How long do you leave it on before wiping off? Being oil, does the Final matt coat adhere to it ok, do you use an acrylic clear coat? It would be really useful if you could go into more detail with the weathering as I'm finding that the hardest part of my builds currently. Thanks my friend :)
@Homerlovesbeer29 жыл бұрын
I forgot to add 1 question, how did you end up doing the navigation lights after cutting them out? Cheers
