Let me show you how to build the greatest fighter in Starfield. This is a very easy to follow build guide for Starfield combat ships. I like to call this ship the Vomit Comet. She is easily one of the best fighter ships I have ever built in Starfield. The vomit Comet has max maneuverability, she's super fast, has a crew capacity of 8, holds over 4k cargo, has a 30 year jump range, and is super compact.

This is such a good design for more then one reason. The basic build as you see here is fine and a great end game ship with no changes at all. Now the best part of this is the base design is so solid you can add on to this ship, at the cost of some maneuverability, and pretty much do anything with it. Make it bigger with more habs but still have one floor, check. Make it a turret monster gun boat, check, make it a cargo hauling beast, check. Literally anything just by expanding on the base model. I have 3 variations of this ship right now and they are all based on the solid design from this video.

Also if you use the 650 fuel 700 part it only drops you by 1 mobility but gives you nearly 3 times the range.

Nice ship. I have never copied anyone's ship design before and you made it very easy. You managed to create what I always tried, yet never quite achieved - fast, small, minimal or no ladders and adequate cargo. I have made some very nice ships but I always seem 'wanting'. You do state this is an 'end-game' ship so I understand not having a research station, otherwise, it has all you need (and yes, modify those weapons for more credits, if you have time and resources). You should have completed all the research before building this, anyway. It took all of 20 minutes to make this ship while watching your great video. I used some Va'ruun ship, rank II, but I do not remember which one, and it does not matter, since it was totally erased. I do remember receiving about 63,000-ish credits for it. The end cost for your ship was 433,150 credits. That is not a cheap ship but by no means expensive for what you offer. Mine was more expensive because I used different weapons and the Fulminator Suppressor. I painted it just like I do for all my ships, dark, dark brown/black, with blood red highlights. It looks awesome. It flies awesome. It is easy to board and get to the bridge. I took it for a few battles (10, 12?). It annihilated the Va'Ruun and Ecliptic who dared cross my path. I also captured three ships, levels 55, 64 and 72. All with ease. The toon I tried this with is a level 99 Crimson Fleet government hater. I doubt he will continue to use this ship simply because I really like the modified Watchdog which he has been using since the start, progressively building it up to the beast it is now (same weapons, White 3015 engines for the 180 speed, therefore limiting cargo to keep the 100 mobility along with minimum necessary habs, and yes, workstation and battle stations for a crews of 10 - I know, 8 is all we can really have - but it is very easy to get in from ground or docked, fast, nimble and reliable - unbeaten so far.). The Watchdog, now named 'Buzzard', walked through the UC SysDef Fleet without even knowing there was a battle. I think your Vomit Comet would do the same. Having ran several other toons through NG+(10), I know that your ship and the Buzzard, would both be able to finish the game and move you forward to NG+(x). If someone were to ask me a recommendation for a ground-up ship build, I would definitely recommend your 'Vomit Comet'. Oh, for the record, I named my ship 'Hawkes I', in honor of the designer.

You don't have to fight real pirates to level up. You can go to the simulator inside the MAST building and just fight simulated pirates and you will level up just the same. The good thing is that you can do that immediately, as soon as you start the game, and land in New Atlantis for the first time. Ignore going to the lodge, and join the UC vanguard. That will take you through a training session where you will find the simulator inside the building. You can just continue to go to the simulator over and over and over again, where you will get experience points for every ship you kill, and they'll simulated shifts will also count as real ship kills. Since it is the beginning of the game, you will level up extremely quickly, and you're piloting skill will be matched out in about 20 minutes. You can then keep using the simulator if you like, to keep leveling up other tech tree related skills that will make your ship better.

Wonderful guide, I went to the key and added the Comspike and Conduction Grid to make this even into a greater monster . I painted him red and black and a touch of yellow call Drogon ( Dragon from GOT).

On the Xbox the shipbuilder isn’t as fluid and how the hell do you start a new ship from scratch? It only allows to modify my existing inventory, and it limits what I can do. I’m probably overlooking something but lack of a guide or directions is limiting I’ve done searches on it but everything points to PC version being a lot easier to use

I like 180 speed so much :) TY Ser always appreciated oh I get the 180 speed by using the Hyena 3 ship and using 4 White Dwarf 3015 engines RD-1000 beta Grav drive only 24 LY and 360 cargo wheew :)

The 180 speed is only available if you use white dwarf 3015 engines exclusively on the ship ... still haven't worked out whether it's a deliberate feature or an unintended glitch because they look to have the 3020 and 3015 stats reversed but no other white dwarf A class (or any other a class at all for that matter) does above 150.

Based my ship on this build, although the overall asthetic is a little different and I went with 5x engines to get full mobility as I put in 1600 shield. Also put a slim docker in the bottom and had the inside ship a little different - I now have no ladders. You come in to a workbench area with 2 of the smaller habs each side that give crew. Then up too is my captains quarters, fully self contained with a porthole in the back. So kinda very loosely based on this in the end after putting what I wanted on it instead. Still the same 100 mobility, 8 crew and 4000 odd cargo. Ship cost nearly 700k though iirc

This is a great fighter, but it's missing a research lab and shielded cargo. Also the fuel tank is small but that can be helped if you have an outpost with helium.

How does your PBO 300 Alpha Beam show 74.61 damage and mine only shows 53.29? There is another ship builder that I have followed that gets the higher damage on his weapons also. I can't figure it out. I am maxed in all of my ship weapons.

Considering the cost, maneuverability and cargo, it's pretty damn nice ship ... but to be honest this isn't a game where actual piloting skills (not talking about the in-game skills) are all that important, like in Star Citizen for example. For that reason, I just fly in a Stronghold with the 6 best autos and the best missile setup. It practically destroys groups of ships all by itself while I just cruise around.

Ive just finished building this, and my game is glitched out or something 😫 whenever i have this set as my home ship, it doesn't show the ship on the landing pad, and any place i try to go on the map it just says "you cannot fast travel at this time" but i switch to any other ship and there it is on the landing pad, and i can fast travel anywhere i want...tried save/reload that didn't help either 😢

If you use 2 control stations instead of the battle stations it gives an extra 2 crew slots for only 4 extra mass, using 3 landing gear with 4 thrust each would also work I built a much bigger version over 40 levels ago using the Star Eagle, i've been upgrading & replacingitems as my skills have increased, to which i've recently upped from 5 to 6 engines, 150 speed (actually does 180+) 40 reactor, 30 LY travel distance, 10 crew stations, 100 manoeuvreability, over 1,300 weapon damage 6 PAS & 8 missile launchers, 2,700 base cargo, 810 base shield with 10.5 shield regeneration, 5 crew habs, captains quarters, 11 bunks, workshop & infirmary. no ladders, 420 helium 3 & has high level Starborn Guardian ships for breakfast 4 at a time whilst taking little, if any, damage The older version with 5 engines is on my channel including all specs, interior & exterior tour plus the specs of my Bootlegger ship which is just as big & powerful with higher cargo capacity including shielded cargo, 8 crew stations & 1,200+ weapon damage

4:19 That porthole on the docker is a bit pointless, since you can't actually enter that hab. I'd replace the docker with a 1x1 hab, and put a one of the slim dockers on instead.

Space ship combat in starfield is rather lame and for the most part not even needed in the game except for a few specific plot events... it didn't impress me. It's a decent rpg game. Not as good as skyrim, imo. FPS combat is mostly "meh". The special powers are mostly pointless. Outposts, mostly useless. It's just something to do but serves little point for the plot or the game itself. Exploration is drab, takes too long to do, the survey data isn't worth much. Crossing vast distances of empty to get between locations on a world... Is well, totally silly. No cars, hover bikes, or dune buggies? Sure. Walking is what we do in the future. Graphically it looks great. It can be a fun game. Don't get me wrong. But starfield is more a door/loading screen simulator. I expect mods will turn the game into a masterpiece before long..
