the trick, like he said, is using the 2 story bridge. the game will never put ladders connecting those 2 floors. you make a 2 story "core" with that bridge then build down and up CAREFULLY, trying to force a path as you build. 1 by 1 companionways are good for that. if you start a floor with a companionway you are telling the game "this is where i want the ladder to be". if you start your build with a stack of companionways on top of a landing bay, that SHOULD be the only ladder in your ship.

@@BREAKocean Also some habs etc want the door in a set spot due to layout of interior, this is always obvious. But if you place a 1x1 companion down and just cycle habs they will lock inital to were it wants the door to go. helps give an idea what the game wants

great. now do a Mega Base Ship. i know your ships have everything you NEED (bed, crafting), i mean a ship with as many hab types as you can get and some passenger habs. essentially a cruise ship with crafting capabilities. for thematic reasons you might want to use an infirmary instead of science bay. they're only thematically different after all. if you haven't hit the build limit for amount of modules, you aren't doing it right.

You can actually go back to the simulator at any time. Just go to the MAST elevator and go to the level with the simulator and do it to your hearts content. I used it to level up my piloting all the way, and I had already completed the Vanguard quest line. I also use it to practice flying with thrusters since I just learned that I could even do so.

Hate to point this out but you might wanna test out the A and the B class weapons C class weapons actually have the lowest dps and for 1 power less you can cut a significant amount of weight (lighter jump drive will cut more weight) going with the best B class generator which will reduce the amount of engines you need for 100 mobility and in addition if you stick with A Class engines you have a higher top speed. now you can put that extra power into a 3rd set of weapons significantly bumping up your dps the vanguard A class shields also regenerate faster and have a massive shield pool and are also lighter on weight

Great guid and shockingly cost effective. I've seen guides with similar output that cost $760k. At about $450k this is a steal and I still had space to add another weapon at the cost of 6 power. With my power output at 45, I don't have to sacrifice much speed to launch missles.

I don’t love the paint job (I get that these are signature colors but I prefer fighting ships to have a more military color aesthetic), but I do love that ship. I think you made a lot of really smart choices here and developed an excellent design. It’s lean (even as a class C) and in good fighting trim. The interior layout is clean and easy to navigate. And, it prioritizes the job it was designed for, fighting, and avoids the siren song of trying to be a Jack-of-all-trades ship for pack rats. Outstanding work!

Dude! This ship is so awesome! I built mine to exact specs as you explained. I took out the rear starboard porthole, so I could keep the bunk nearby the entrance. With my maxed out skill, I get 45 bars on my reactor. At first I used the suggested weapons and I did pretty good. Then, I replaced them with two each of these turrets: Obliterator 250 MeV Alpha Turret, PBO 300 Auto Alpha Turret, and Disruptor 3340A Auto Alpha Turret. I can max power to all three weapons, shields, and engines, and still have three bars for grav drive. Opposing ships now die so fast, I can't even get them lined up in my reticule before they're all dead. My ship targeting function is now useless because all oppo ships are destroyed before it can lock on. I love this ship design! This is the way

Suggestion, try putting the Disrupters on the wing forward hard points top and bottom and then add two turrets on each wing rear hard points top and bottom.

To rank up your pilot skill is to use the flight simulator when you join the Vanguard and get access to Vanguard weapons/shield.

If you want the ladder removed from the armory to the computer core, just add an 1x1 hub above the back of the computer core. I also added a small docker from other manufacturer above it, so i made my own docker and i removed the nova galactic one.

Built and improved your ship by adding cowlings to rear of present cowlings ( wings ) and installing 4 turrets facing rearward. 2 on top and 2 on bottom of each rear cowling. 2x the turrets at no cost to speed / maneuvering. Insane amount of damage

Been trying to fix it for an hour but the armory/core always have a ladder linking them and are not accessible from the landing bay. I know about highlighting doors and pressing G to attach, that only works until i add the 2nd floor on top then it converts to a ladder

Not really sure what I am missing as I am new to the ship building aspect, but I am lvl 22 with max starship design and max piloting, but it started with not having the cockpit you selected and then right after the fuel tank wasn't available to me as well. Ship parts unlock as you level up. I think level 60 is when you have access to all parts. Also some parts are exclusive to certain vendors.

This cockpit is only sold by the mechanic at Titan in Sol system, as far as I know. Might be in some other places too, but that's where you'll find one for sure. I noticed myself that max Ship Design is not a great skill to rush, because higher versions of parts are still level gated. Some all the way to lvl60. It still makes your selection better, but it's a big letdown when you finally hit rank 4 and are like "now I'm building the best ship!" Because nah that's not how it works.

Yeah I'm pretty convinced that that cockpit creating no stairways or ladders I mean it's got to be exclusively on PC because no matter how I try to put modules together on Xbox I end up with ladders even though they're not necessary, sometimes even a ladder connecting the two halves that are directly connected to the cockpit. It's ridiculous...

Hover over where you want the connection point made on the part and then enter part selection, idk on xbox but it's G on keyboard. It will show modules that fit that connection and will soft force them.

Going from A to C on your engines caps the max speed. I'd say for a fighter, you want the least amount of engines of A-grade without losing more than maybe 5-10 mobility. As soon as you added the C-grade engine, top speed went from 150 to 130.

Yes, you need to be at certain levels to have certain parts unlocked. Around Level 60 is when everything is available. Also, certain parts are only available at certain locations.

Me imagino que se puede construirlo en cualquier outpost que tiene. Se lo hace en un outpost porque se puede usar la mayoria de partes alli en vez de tener que viajar a cualquier lugar por accesar partes. A menos de los uniques (por ejemplo, en Titan al empiezo). Mas importante seria su nivel de character (60) y nivel de talentos (piloting, starship building, starship engineering).

On PC to change elevation is r for up and f for down. If youre on Xbox Im not sure the button though. If you can do this it makes snapping at different elevation easier.
