Good video young fella !Great content 👍 That dark coloured lure you found stuck on the twig did it have a black painted black bib 🤔 might be one of the lubins 🤣 ..
@HawkesyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, the darker coloured one was dark because it had a heap of growth on it from being submerged for so long don't think the bib was actually painted but need to clean it up to be sure

@@HawkesyFishing yeah it might be okay still, I’m thinking of hitting the river myself but we’ll see, I might have to buy a yak, lol! Top effort legend!

Well done! but hell that is seriously spooky on that lake A tip when you don't have the net handy, get a grip on the leader with your right hand (while dealing with the rod!!), you can then just pull the fish up to the lip grips.
@HawkesyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, was super cool to see with no water on the flats. I prefer not to grab the line when I'm landing fish since that removes a lot of the give in the system and can result in pulled hooks. Just back the drag off a bit and guide it in to the lip grips
@clive15392 жыл бұрын
Impressive, less water between fish when it’s like that. Nice light for the video too.

Did you use majors ramp to launch the yak? Thinking of doing the some this week

I was at the ramp but it was well out of the water, was just the bank below it
@sandytrackxfishing28102 жыл бұрын
That's awesome man! I'm surprised you caught anything! After what all the cod guys say about cod not liking fast rising or dripping water levels! So you smashed that theory! Would be an awesome time to find some more new lures with all that water being so low! Awesome vid as always legend 👌❤️
@HawkesyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I really wasn't sure how the fishing would be. Had been seeing good reports but they were pretty much all caught with livescope in the slower water closer to the wall. Was hoping to spend an hour or two wandering around for lures but the bank was way too soft to walk on very well

Dam who even knew about that draw down thing, stupid mad what the lake looks like when they do it. Woulda thought weed was a good thing, no pun intended. Two stonkers bud but stepping out into that slush was a bad idea, what if you had bogged down to your dusters, got stuck and they flooded the lake again. Hawksey woulda been goneskey, ha ha.
@HawkesyFishing2 жыл бұрын
hahah thanks man, a lot of the regular mulwala fisherman I've heard talk about it have said they like the weed and the habitat it provides for the fish. Unfortunately when its grown up to the surface in a lot of areas it creates a pretty negative experience for recreational users of the waterway. I thought I picked a pretty solid spot to stand on the bank but evidently not

Able to find somewhere decent to launch obviously Didn't see any boats out

I just launched at one of the boat ramps. It was well above the water but below it wasn't too bad. Was still a few boats about but it was fairly quiet
