The endgame music when widow falls pops up twice in this episode, when hes talking about the best shot he never took and the scene where kate is hanging off the side of the building and clint cuts her free. Shivers!!! Marvel are so good at capturing moments and emotions.

Looks like Laura might have been "Mockingbird" under SHIELD before she abandoned that identity to become Clint's wife. That watch probably contains info about her old life and mission.

That is both cool and sad, because Marvel TV actually had a real and great Bobbi Morse in Adrienne Palicki in Agents of SHIELD. And if Feige is already bringing Marvel TV actors, I was hoping for Adrienne’s Mockingbird to be brought too. But Feige does love to change and mix characters from the comics. So perhaps you might be right.

It's not as much as what the watch do, it's who it used to belong to. As Clint said, the owner's identity is on that watch and if that gets out, that person would be in danger. I'm starting to think the watch was Laura's or was a gift from her to Clint and has her name (or real name) engraved on it. Some people theorize that Laura was somekind of undercover agent who assumed a new identity when she retired or married Clint. It's possible that Clint used to wear it or kept it by his person when he was Ronin, which would explain why it was in the Avengers Compound along with the rest of Ronin's stuff. Now why or how would the person who sent the Tracksuits to get that watch would know about it is the most interesting question.

Laura is a MCU character only,she nor the kids exist in the comics. Hawkeye was married in thr comics to Mockingbird. I bet Laura is gonna be Mockingbird.

And since so many fans want to see more of Clint's wife, it would be appropriate if she had a name change ie... witness protection and is now Laura Barton instead of Bobbi Morse.

for me, a good and simple way for yelena to find out what really happened to nat would be to just hear about it while eavesdropping on a conversation between clint and kate. like clint telling kate how nat died and it just so happens that yelena planted a bug on him during their fight so she hears everything.

One theory I had was if Maya actually tried holding Clint's family hostage to get his attention (since she has info on his wife/kids and this would be the chance to show Yelena's moral compass and be like, isn't this too far?) and maybe his daughter pulls out a photo or a photo falls from a shelf. Yelena sees it's a family photo of Clint's family along with Natasha, maybe even with her holding Clint's daughter (since we know she and Nat were close). While not actually knowing what happened, she would realize Clint and Nat were obviously close and she's been lied to. Cue her being like, wait, what don't I actually know?

The biggest thing for me is how they're setting up this interconnected underworld for Kingpin to be revealed in, and it's gonna be so cool when he finally has his moment. I think Kate's mother called Val and had her set Yelena on Clints trail here. Val seems like someone who would be interested on artifacts from the Avengers compound and might use others to procure them for her. Yelena did not get out there to hunt down Clint on her own, Val hired her to go after Clint. Yelena knowing, that Kate is the daughter of her employers customer would explain several things: 1st.) Why Yelena attacked right there, when they where going for the watch. Kate's mother probably has the means to track Kate's phone with the security app of her company. 2nd.) Why Yelena hooked Kate to the line, so she does not fall. 3rd.) Why Yelena was hesitant engaging Kate. I also think the watch is about the history of Clint's wife Laura. I think there is a good chance she was a shield agent, too, before they both married. It would explain why she is so collected about all he is doing, why can talk to her openly about his work, why she is able to get him information and even how they both met and got to know each other well enough, to fall in love and marry, despice Clints occupation. Maybe Fury staged her death when he set them up at the secret farm house. .... would be cool when she turns out to be a badass, too, when someone threatens their kids.I hope for a christmas dinner in the last episode with the Bartons and Yelena on the same table :)

I have noticed that this show is not leaving any dead scenes. In the first episode, we saw Kate stomp a champagne bottle into somebody's face and in this episode, she stomps a gun out of Yelena's reach. This episode she is learning to flick coins, so I expect to see her use that trick for effect before the end of the season.

The problem I have with her calling Valentina is the timing…it seems like something is not quite right with that. And no evidence (yet) that they are connected. I could be wrong but who is to say I am also right? 🤔 just theories. We will find out-two episodes left to go! Edit: and also it is possible that Eleanor is partnering with Uncle. Sounding unafraid does not make it so; people can act brave but petrified inside. We are yet to know much about Elenor and hope we find out more in the last two episodes.

my wild a** theory - the watch is actually either Laura's watch or a watch Laura gave to Clint, but either way it connects to HER and her past. Even WILDER theory is that Laura is a former potential Widow that Clint saved, which is why he was so vested in Natasha. But I think Clint kept the watch with him as a reminder of her when he did his Ronin stuff and one of the tracksuit folks saw it and tied it to Ronin.

My current theory... the Rolex was a gift from Natasha to Clint. The tracking chip allowed her to always find him should he get into trouble. Clint will use that as evidence they were friends. As for why the Tracksuit Mafia were after the watch... they could get someone to hack the tracking data to prove that Clint is Ronin.

Not deaf or hard of hearing but from what I've read not using hearing aids is a thing. There's a great article in Salon about what Hawkeye was getting right and what it could still improve on. Clint turning off his hearing aid was on the list that impressed the writer. Navigating life while wearing a hearing aid can be very tiring because of how they work.

Yelena made a clear effort to get Kate safely out of the battle by attaching the tether before she chucked her off the roof. That makes me think the person Kate's mom was desperate to call her back was Val. Which of course makes her the one that paid Val to get rid of Clint in the first place. The questions are, who is Kate's mom exactly and does Clint know who she is?

Hypothesis: Val contracted Yelena to kill Clint because Eleanor paid for it in the first place! Her daughter was "Obsessed" With Clint, and removing him from the world removes a "Bad Influence" on her daughter! If she is connected to "Uncle" (a certain "King" of the underworld) it would give her the money and connections to hire a Black Widow....maybe? (Why is Yelena taking contracts on people?)

Wendy and Dustin I figured out after watching this episode that it was Kate's mom who called Val and told her she needed a favor and if there was to go after Clint , remember after she talked to Clint Kate's mom called somebody and said she needed a favor and that person was Val who told Yelena the her next assignment was Clint and the only way that she knew yelena would do it was by telling her that Clint was the one who killed Natasha

Since Black Widow came out, I had some questions about VAl. The main one being how she knew certain details that should have been inaccessible to her, which, to me tells me there is a mole. I think that mole is Laura Barton. Val knew two things that should have not been known, the status of Caps shield, and that Clint killed Nat, which obviously he didn't, but there is only two people who were witness to Nats death, Clint and Red Skull. However, Clint would have confided in Laura the events on Vormir. Now that Laura is being portrayed to have skill beyond raising children, how did she have such quick access to who was running the Track Suit Mafia? Clint Barton's end in this series has always been a problem because of his family, however, if it turns out that Laura is a double agent, his death could lead to far more story lines than him just retiring into the sunset.

My craziest off the wall theory is, what if Kate's mom took advantage of all the chaos of the battle in New York to kill her husband. She seemed pretty cold during the scenes in that time. Also, super slight chance here, what if she's a black widow? Kate could have been a child from a previous marriage, she marries him while Kate is too young to remember, and they never tell her. In the Black Widow movie, it showed that they were distributed around the world in key positions. Now that her husband is gone, she's in charge of a security company with what appears to be pretty far reaching resources. Also, look at how Armand reacted to her. He hated her, maybe he had an inkling that she was dangerous. Another theory that doesn't really rely on the above is, Kate's mom runs a security agency. I wonder if they hand't the security for the mystery boss that heads the organized crime operation Kate and Clint have butted heads with. Look at the security system in that apartment. Wonder if mommy dearests company was monitoring it. Kate gummied up the strobes, but I'm pretty sure I saw a camera on the wall. Maybe her mom will see her in action on video. What a great episode and reaction.

Yelena's soft spot for Kate is one of the fandom's favorite things about this show. From the beginning, it's evident that Yelena doesn't plan to kill Kate, and it's only trying to get her out of her way. This proves that the Black Widow is not a villain, but a grieving person trying to avenge her sister's death

Thoughts On Hawkeye - Episode 4 Based on the phone conversation between Clint and his wife, Laura - the vintage Rolex belonged to her. It has sentimental value as he carried it with him after The Blip. He lost it in the Avengers Compound rubble after Thanos’ ship bombed it toward the end of “Avengers: Endgame”. Right after Clint left the Bishop’s penthouse, Eleanor called someone and left a voicemail message: asking him/her to callback as it was urgent. My theory is that the call was meant for Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine @ Val portray by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Natasha little to no opportunity to tell Clint about Yelena…. The events of Black Widow happen after the events of Civil War, so Clint was under house arrest from before the time she connected with Yelena up until his family was snapped and he turned Ronin, and Natasha was on the run and in hiding that whole time. It’s possible they could have secretly met up or talked on the phone during this time, but I think it would have been too dangerous for Natasha so they likely wouldn’t have risked it.

Is that the watch that had the repulsor ray built into it? Stark used it in the Captain Am movie. Or it's just one of the many watches he owned, and they all do different things. Maybe it has a recording of what the Avengers did to bring everyone back and when they find it. Yelena will get to know how Natasha died. Now who does Hawkeye think hired Yelena? Kingpin doesn't like attention, so is he removing Maya too? Who does Maya think Yelena is? Does Kate even realize how dangerous the Black widows are? She's way out of her league and got thrown off a roof. Time to try to quietly back out of this situation. She won't and she still has the watch. Why didn't Yelena just shoot him. Seems like she was trying to figure something out not just get a killing revenge. How many people would actually know the details of Natasha's death? Hawkeye never said it in the movies. Maya has info on Hawkeye's private life. She will go after them. But it seems like Laura has a few tricks up her sleeves too. The language switch may be a hint of who she is or was. She was very friendly with Natasha, Hmmm

To correct a point, yelena is not going after Clint on her own. Yes it's personal but people seem to forget Val sent yelena after clint. The real plot point is not about the reason Clint is fighting yelena, the real question is why does Val want Clint dead.

Specifically? It looks like she's using Black Widow tech. She's using moves that are reminiscing of Natasha and it's also possible he just knows her. He introduced his family to Natasha, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume Natasha shared in return.
