If you cut the gripper off and leave the tube long at one end, you can shove it into the other end to make a complete seal.

For anyone curious, the rear seat opening is around 11' and the front seat is also around 11'. I was hoping I'd only need 2-20' for all four doors, but no luck. Went with 4-20' lengths to get all 4 doors with minimum gaps.

Try put the gap and a point where it wont allow water to run in to it. And also a pretty good idea to put a bit of clear nail polish to prevent those metal tabs from starting to rust. I've used this method with great success in the past (Y)

Saw your video and decided to replace some of mine and per advice of one of the comments on here I ordered 4 of the 20 foot rolls off amazon. I just did my passenger side only so far. Installation and everything was easy. Just wondering how hard was it to close your doors when you just put it on? Before to close my doors it was normal force and now I have to slam them egregiously hard now to get them to actually close. Is that normal? They've been installed for less than a day now. Something seems off unless that's just normal until they flatten out after a couple days. I can see it's actually pushing my doors out too. Idk, something just feels off.
@HawkeyeSkunkWorks8 ай бұрын
Its harder to close at first. Need a couple hot days and it will form the the door gap better.
@GarrettHMTB8 ай бұрын
@@HawkeyeSkunkWorks gotcha. I can tell it’s better now from them being closed all night but still really hard to close. Guess it’ll just be a lil while. They are definitely sealing the doors now 🤣. Thanks

I replaced mine about 3 years ago with the same stuff from ebay. The door took a good amount more force to close. More like slamming it then closing it. It was impossible to push it closed from the half latched point. I figured it would eventually shape up in the AZ heat. I just recently replaced with OEM since the aftermarket still had to be slammed to close the door. The stuff I bought was 1/2" roughly. maybe going down a side would be a better option.
