I feel like Maxwell gave Superman a generic suit similar to GL, Terrific, and HawkGirl. Just look at "Guys's suit". Under his jacket you can see the same line patterns superman has. Even the legs have the same knee pads and lines. Its basically the same superman suit, but it is white and it has a LordTech logo. My theory is that Clark thought it did not represent him, so his mom turned the white suit blue, added the kryptonian cape from his ship, added trunks, and then cut out the LordTech logo and replaced it with his. This would fit with the rumored story and explains why there are so many lines on the suit. Also by changing the government/corpo suit it makes him stand out for being the first one to breakout of the corporate superhero group and be himself. We all thought Martha made the suit, but I think its a mix of both Martha and Maxwell. Making a suit out of that material, with a detailed collar, and lines throughout the suit is very difficult. BUT Turning a white suit blue, adding a cape, adding trunks, and adding your own logo is something Martha can do.

What a great theory and just fits the whole story and characterisation very much. I would be very happy if this plays out as such, where Superman will be the first to break out of the controlled of corp (greedy people) then other heroes follow and when they meet Bruce Wayne and Wayne tech help them be more unique in their own ways with new costumes that enhance the each hero’s culture and heritage as they feel comfortable. I mean Wayne is always the best so lest wait and see. I bet on it

I'm okay with the suits because, like you said, they appear to be JLI uniforms funded by Lord Tech and I'm sure it'll play into the plot. We also gotta remember that these are the first suits and that every super hero has a slightly different suit in ever appearance so they can sell new toys. When we next see these characters, they may have updated suits or completely new suits.

The only reason the suits look like that because they all part of the corporation LordTech and it feels like they need to have matching suits due to a company quota like Walmart employees . I guarantee you that the characters will have their comic accurate suits.

My first reaction to seeing Guy in that photo was that, with the colours of that suit and the colour of his hair, he looks like Roundhouse from Teen Titans. I think it quite suits Hawkgirl though. But maybe we can't judge till we see the wings. I think Mr. Terrific looks perfect. Possibly a little younger than his comic book version and also a bit thinner. But we shall see. I love Dc. I am just happy to see their characters on either the big or small screen. So every time an alternate version comes along I think what's one more? I'll be there on opening day. Can't wait.

Gunn doesn't seem to be planing on making Maxwell Lord an "evil villian" in this iteration. Lord is definitely going corporate with the heroics, but not necessarily "evil". Take a look at Justice League International for a better understanding of what they seem to be going for.

THEORY: The reason why the suits all look the same as Mr. Terrific's, is probably because he is the one who made their suits. I definitely think that they're like a superhero team with matching outfits except metamorpho. They could be "THE TERRIFICS" Cause in the comics, Mr. Terrific leads a team of Superheroes called the Terrifics but the rest of the team has Metamorpho, Phantom Girl, Plastic Man and Element Dog I think it's the same team as the comics but they just swapped out Phantom Girl And Plastic Man with Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner ....but I get the feeling we might see both Phantom girl and Plastic man might join them in a future movie or something

How can you say in the same sentence that this movie is being made with sooo much love but dont like the suits. The poor quality of the suits, should let you know its not being made with love. Gunn is using the Guardians of the Galaxy template. A bunch of humor and colorful scenes where everyone makes jokes. They will add in a few heart touching scenes. If you love that style, you will love the movie.
