Priit is a genius. Had a seminar with him last year.

Lachlan just recently showed something that looked a little similar to this but he lays his head on his bottom arm to stop the crossface with his bottom arm facing up in a L. I think he calls it the Pillow Position. I know you're never going to see this Pritt but I wish I could pick your brain about why you think its much safer (risk/reward) to keep that bottom arm near the hips. For reference I saw Lachlan going over his thing in a recent side control escape youtube video of his. Really love your stuff Pritt, Thx.

He's got some seminar videos here in KZbin. Type his name and BJJ Globetrotters. He uses the Hawkins in a lot of positions so make sure you check his seminars.👍

The Click- I think is to have connection, you will have seemed his hip to your base, so bridge works! That I believe answers your question. Risk is hand is low, reward is trapped on the bridge-waist! Like a tortilla!

I have been working this on lower ranks for a few months, and if you have the correct "I don't know" posture with your shoulders, you shouldn't need your hands to help defend anything related to your neck. I don't mean for that to come across as arrogant, I am no expert in this position, just what I've found.

Interesting use of defensive principles. Seems to work in submission grappling but this is one of those things that does a disservice to jiu jitsu as a self defense martial art.

When I use this during actual rolling my opponent goes north south and then tea bags me.

If we are talking about accountability and honesty, let's discuss why it's REALLY called the Hawking position 🙄
