Hawkins & Brimble not so popular in UK but I can find it in the supermarkets shelves here in Portugal, strange but it's true. Palmindaya shaving cream isn't Portuguese, it's made in Brazil and has you know they speak Portuguese but in a different way than us (different terms and accent), it's a mentholated cream and if it stays a little more longer in the face, can cause a certain burning and redness in your skin. About the Mühle R41, I'm just waiting that my wet shaving supplier have it back in stock to order mine too. Careful if you will gonna use it with a Feather. Really nice stuff Martin have sent to you. Well done, community wet shaving are the best. Great video as always. Cheers.

The R41 may be aggressive, but imho it only works well with a Feather blade. Any other blade and it leaves stubble on my face. The Merkur Futur though works with any blade, is heavier (130 g) and gives me an efffortless shave. Yes, it's even more aggressive than the R41 yet milder if that makes sense

I have the muhle R41, the designer absolutely preferred aggression over comfort, I noticed the blade is not bended too much, so I get a better shave when I tilt the handle a little bit away from my face. Use a sharp blade and use very light pressure. Also make sure of the blade alignment because my razor head does not always align perfectly.

I have some news regarding my ebay auction ventures! I have won a razor. And no, it wasn't a Fatboy -- it was a Gillette "Super Speed Safety Razor". It reminds me of the one my father gave me when I first started shaving as a teenager around 8 years ago or so. I might just bid on a Fatboy to own one of those SinatraLennon-approved legends but I was in need of a new razor because I've been getting a lot of cuts lately when shaving and changing the blade doesn't seem to work so I'm suspecting my modern safety razor might be going faulty from age (goes to show how you can't beat the vintage stuff [if my theory is correct]).

Never heard of Hawkins and Brimble over here, doesn’t actually sound like a British brand, how ironic, with a name like Hawkins (a name you don’t hear much over here), sounds like more American. Over here in the supermarkets it’s mostly all Gillette, Nivea, Wilkinson Sword, Baylis and Harding, and Boots has a tie in with Harry’s Razors. BTW Boots is not really a chemist, we call it a pharmacy, but it’s perhaps better defined as health and beauty chain because that’s mostly what they sell nowadays.
