Not being critical, but I don't think that is what actually has been said is it? I thought it was "There aren't any more gigs booked after these dates". That doesn't mean they won't book some more at some point for maybe next year? That's how i took it anyway and Dave's condition, as you can see here, isn't really stopping him.

good to see them soldiering on through the cosmic void but i'm guessing the gig is missing the smells of resin, durban poison, sweaty leather, patchouli, oil soaked jeans and damp afghan coats that always suited the music so well back in 70's

The last time i saw them was in 2006 in Leeds and at Holmfirth and all those smells and aromas you mention had well disappeared. Back in the early 70,s i saw them a few times in Bradford St Georges Hall and it was exactly as you put it every gig left its mark on all your senses and in particular what went through your nose was unforgettable.
