I first saw the Cabs in 1964 at Mission Drums competition in Boston. They were the best of the best. I loved Flamingo Cha Cha, I was in the Toreadors and later the Don Juan’s, and we were taught by the same instructors who taught the Cambridge Caballeros. Great Times !!

One of the true thrills of my young life was being at Soldier Field in 1957 and watching this amazing group step off with España Cañi at the American Legion finals competition. How did they do it? At that time the seniors were the big deal and they were way above the rest. The juniors competition was not the main event; just an after thought. What a sound! Great to hear the depth that can only come from seniors.Wonderful to see the tradition goes on.

Just to clarify that is the Hawthorne Caballeros alumni drum and bugle Corps, not the competing corpse

Calling a drum and bugle Corps a band is a major major insult, bite your tongue. But today unfortunately there are no longer drum and bugle course they are marching bands. DCI is responsible for the activity going down the drain as it has, when you were in a junior core in the good old days you were encouraged to move on to a senior Corps which really helped the entire activity grow, senior chords for great because of all the experience coming from Junior Coors and then going to senior course, many members from senior cores were teaching the junior course so it was win-win all the way around. DC I never ever encourage kids from Junior cores to go on to a senior drum and bugle Corps. My only thing is I think the reason is they would lose control of the activity that's exactly what they've done though, they control the activity.

+Donald Kneuer It's a shame that people would spend good $$$ to sit and B-S instead of listening to music at it's BEST!!!!! I've tried telling people that a Drum Corp show is just like a tennis match, you don't get up and move around or talk while a corp is trying to show you what they praticed hard for months to learn so they can entertain you! GROW UP PEOPLE!!!!!
