It’s 2006. This song is playing on your Myspace page while changing your top friends list and your little brother/sister is watching Suite Life Of Zack And Cody in the living room, life is good. 14 years later, in 2020 you’re probably drunk and randomly had a thought to look this song up to reminisce of the good times of your teenage years. I was 13 when this song came out. Time truly does fly.

Then I got a CD player, and every bump on the bus would make it skip. Making this horrible ride through my hometown to school just a little bit bareable.

Hawthorne Heights reminds me of a very dark time in my life. It was 2006-2007, I was 14 and a freshman in HS. My mom and dad left me alone for months living in my house(which is in the worst neighborhood in my entire state). I remember not having food in the cupboards and being so hungry. My 16 year old friend I grew up with (he was a crack-cocaine dealer) came over and bought me food for my house and a meal from McDonald's. He also showed me how to make my own money selling crack and I did go down that road for a while. It was an extremely lonely time in my life but I would have crazy ditching parties and drinking parties and noone cared so that was cool.

This was more "pop" mall rat alternative music then. The bands you listed were the mainstream version of emo/punk. The hipsters of today use to listen to this music and were scene kids. It's definitely cooler to listen to this music now than it was then. I was into punk/hardcore/ and 90s emotional hardcore when these bands were popular and they were always a guilty pleasure of mine. Glad I have a son that I can rock asleep to music like this, and other music I grew up listening to. God only knows the music that will be out when he's older, much less the music today. Gotta keep the good stuff alive.

kinda makes ya sound old already mate lol its like what our parents said to us "our music was so much better back in the day!" Its gone 180. Im 29 an I loved em when i was 15, but life keeps going an never changing you can only adapt or be considered uncool an old.

I remember never letting myself listen to Hawthorne heights when they were big. It felt like the most emo thing ever to me at the time and it was embarrassing to like emo music back in high school. Now i'm revisiting the music and it feels so nostalgic
