I wasn't even in my teens during the early and mid 2000's, but despite having very fond childhood memories from that era I still feel like I've missed something. I believe that would be growing up as a teenager from 2001 to 2009, the way people interacted, the lack of distractions, (smartphones) and the music scenes of that time made It seem like a very different reality. My teenage years weren't nearly as fun as people had It back then. It was a dull experience that sadly reflects the duller times we're living in. But like I said great childhood, I guess everything comes with a price.

The scene itself was awesome and magical for sure, but I was 17 and had just joined the Marines. Would turn 18 in boot camp so for me when I listen to this music it just brings me back to that time in my life where I’m an adult in the eyes of the law but nowhere near one in my own head. That special place where childhood innocence and teenage dreams meshed with becoming an adult and growing up is where this music takes me. A lot of life experiences hadn’t happened yet, but back then I thought I’d experienced all that life had to give. Hopefully that makes sense. Have a great day.

Man, I used to blast this as a teenager, I eventually got to see Enter Shikari at a festival in Poland and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I used to play drums back then, and I had a white wifebeater with "I prefer the drummer" text on it. I think after they closed the show Rou noticed me standing in the front row and got Rob's drumsticks and threw them into the crowd. Somehow I caught them and I still have them till this day lol. Such a cherry on top of an amazing experience. Ironically, everyone was chanting "sorry you're not" wanting to hear this banger live, but they never played it. The balls on these guys. Loved it anyway.

3:44 the guy plugging his ears in the crowd 😆I have to imagine that in person you couldn't hear anything but Jimi's guitar. If you've ever stood in front of a cranked Marshall stack, you know that loud doesn't begin to describe it, and he's rocking three of them against 1970 PA "technology" and a drummer who is very gentle by modern standards. Luckily it was recorded so we can hear it all!

They are still amazing to this day. Rou's screams and falsetto singing live after almost 20 years is phenomenal. I genuinely mean it when I say they are one of THE best live bands out there. Some have that extra factor live cause they're so well rehearsed (like Coheed and Cambria, Meshuggah, insert amazing on point live artist here)
