Thank you for uploading this video. It is quite unusual finding a violin player of your talent and career playing these pieces, so it is so difficult too to find a good reference recording for students. I'd love to see more of the students repertoire! Thank you so much

Thank you Ms. Winkler, happy to read about your kind opinion. My Bruch g, Wieniawski d weren’t recorded right before the madness of corona, but possible to repeat for a rec again. Wishing you my very best Vs

Thank you for posting this. I have just returned from France where I performed it (without a conductor, as you do here, but not as elegantly). Your performance was very influential to me when I was preparing it.

anyone who says this is choppy needs their ears fixed. There was no Tourte bow until 1810, one year after haydn's death. This would have been written for a short bow. Beautiful !

Expressive, stylish and elegant! Rich tone, and cadence to the point- which I prefer... You mister... proudly earned the Chair to the musician of the the Esterhasy Court.

Vilmos is too good looking to be a violinist (although he plays superbly). He should be a motion picture star + television personality.

Im playing it right now :) My favourite part is the Cadence...
@Aische199313 жыл бұрын
@rembrant711 the Cadenza solo is a mixture of some parts of the Cadenza of the german publishing house "G. Henle Verlag": "Joseph Haydn, Violinkonzert G-Dur Hob.VIIa: 4* Edited by Günter Thomas/ Heinz Lohmann; Cadenzas by Franz Beyer" I played the Cadenza a couple of weeks ago- it´s not so difficult as it sounds=) Sorry if my English is not so good, I´m German=)
@annamariemanwaring316412 жыл бұрын
Thank you for explaining
@RichardMartin213 жыл бұрын
@YOUCANNOTDENY Peters' Edition refers to this as Nr.2, whereas Henle refers to it as, in effect, the fourth (Hob VIIa:4). Though in fact, it is thought to be the earliest of the four.

Yes, it's G+, I Mvt. (I as in roman numeral for first) i think.
@musicstudenteire13 жыл бұрын
@ModellMeister Romantic period is lovely. And having a rich tone while maintaining the flow is harder than a light tone, and more expressive. Then again-its a matter of opinion. I just find most play concertos lightly and I prefer a richer tone.
@parkjustin14 жыл бұрын
:O that was very good!!!!!!!!!

@YOUCANNOTDENY I think it means the first movement of the g violin concerto rather than g major violin concerto no. 1.

im just about to learn this piece
@musicstudenteire13 жыл бұрын
@ModellMeister What I love about romantic period music is its rich expression of its subject, trying to follow the hidden patterns of the allegros, hearing the key changes, imaging why and what it is trying to tell you. i find classical to predictable and formulaic. too much like maths, like an expressionless person. i play it and enjoy it for what it is- revelling in structure- but i dont adore it or enjoy it to the same degree. Different taste mate.
@zanhuang740210 жыл бұрын
me too I am also playing this.

It is a bit choppy but still very good
@doublet99969 жыл бұрын
Well, when it comes to haydn there are two ways to play it - you can play it very legato, and softly, or you can play it like he played it - a bit chopy and slightly naughty. I like it the second way, I think it's more in the style of Haydn. What do you think?
@beatrixpendragon12 жыл бұрын
