Joseph Hayden- Composer of 12 symphonies oddly numbered 92-104. Or so I thought until now.

Not sure who Joseph Hayden is, but there is an Austrian composer called Joseph Haydn who composed 107 (sic) symphonies between Symphony 1 of 1757 and Symphony 104 of 1795 (catalogued as Hob. I:1-104). There is a Symphony ‘A’ (Hob. I:107), a Symphony ‘B’ (Hob. I:108), and a three-movement overture (Hob. I:106) considered to be a symphony by most that make up the total of 107. (The missing Hob. I:105 is the Sinfonia concertante).

1774. For once I know how it got it's nickname, I had a teacher who would pad round the class in hush puppies with a metre ruler.

Mozart learnt from Haydn. Verdi learnt from Donizetti
