Grass types are immune to gas and spore moves Dark type is immune to the prankster ability Ghost types are immune to trapping moves. Ground, Rock, steel types get boosted in sandstorm Rock specifically gets sp def boost Ice types get def boost in snow Probably missed a few or got some wrong it’s 2 am

The reason is not that one, remeber that at the time it got freeze was a tera fairy so basically Dewgong lost his Ice Type so that was the main reason about Dewgong being frozen solid. @@mikedacoolnerd788

Interestingly enough. Lapras also has hydration and 95 base special defense. The main difference is its slower than dewgong but a lot more bulky

I think this wouldv'e worked well with a secondary rain setter or something like the toad who can set it up on switch in (blanked on the ability name). That way, if you need to, you can get off a rest on dewgong, swap over to the other rain setter and set the rain, then get dewgong back to wake up.

Dewgong was one of my my main mons back in pokemon stadium 1, as it actually had a good moveset. Also, perish song dewgong is my new jam. I think I saw Joey use a similar set as well, as he too is a perish trap enjoyer. Altaria is another good one, and my favorite, using fire spin.

I've used a Dewgong set on showdown that's actually decent. 252 HP/252 ATK/4 SPD Assault Vest Thick Fat Fake Out/Knock Off/Ice Shard/Flip Turn It's bulky enough to take a few hits, augmented by Thick Fat. It has outstanding priority access in Fake Out, Ice Shard and even Aqua Jet if you wanted. Knock off is standard utility, giving it solid use even if it doesn't take anything out. And Flip Turn pivots out into the real heavy hitters. You could always swap the atk and spd EVs, but I like the extra damage, personally. Nothing game breaking, but a solid support attacker. And yes, maybe Lapras is far better in almost every way, but it doesn't have access to Fake Out, Aqua Jet, Flip Turn or Knock Off.

I'd like to see Dewgong get an evolution with a type change & ability change. It's 475. Let's buff that to 575 & give it a new ability that gives it stab on water moves, let's call it water works Type: Ice / Electric Ability: Water Works HP: 120 Attack: 115 Defence: 95 Sp Atk: 70 Sp Def: 95 Speed: 70 I'd do this on top of Type buff for Ice, I'd make Resistance: Ice, Ground, Water, Electric Remove Fire as a weakness and move it neutral This would give Dewgong the following Resistances: 1/4x Electric 1/2x Ice, Water, Flying Weaknesses: Rock, Fighting

Odd suggestion, I know, but have you ever considered trying spewpa? It kind of goes hard in doubles, eviolite + friend guard is a pretty good combo and I’ve had success with it. With how bulky it is, you can even run Rage Powder to keep attention off your other mon on the field. It’s surprisingly fun to use, and with your skill I’m sure you could find a good team for it.
