After the win against Tampa, I thought the identity of the leafs finally changed, but no, it's the same as it's always been. Leafy as hell. And to hang their rookie goalie in his 2nd NHL game out to dry like that was just disgusting. Welcome to the Leafs, Chief. Now you'll understand what we've been dealing with for many years, and bringing in new players or coaches makes no difference because the core refuses to change and lead the way to a new identity.

They had to play on the road after less than 24 hrs from there game with Tampa. Completely understandable they wrre a bit tired lol

Maybe the panel has it backwards. Maybe the top teams in the league really don't respect/fear the Leafs and don't bring their "A" game making the Leafs look like contenders. The bottom tier really don't have playoff hopes and games against the Leafs are their big games. It would explain the excellent regular season and the horrible playoffs.

@@oldhab7890 Your theory is interesting although among Canada’s NHL teams with respect to postseason play the: - Canucks have a 2-game streak of at least 3 goals allowed (both losses) - Oilers have gone 4 and 2 respective straight games having allowed under 4 and 3 goals - Flames and Jets have respective playoff streaks of 5 and 9 games during which they’ve allowed at least 4 goals (all but 1, for each team, losses [for the Flames, game 1 of the 2022 battle-of-Alberta playoff series]) - Leafs, Habs and Sens have respective 3-, 2- and 2-game streaks of under 3, 3 and 4 goals allowed - Flames and Jets are in a nutshell the only ones to have active streaks of at least four goals allowed, going back to their most-recent playoff series (the respective 2022 and 2024 battle-of-Alberta and Avs-Jets ones)

This take is a bit short sighted, it takes all of the credit away from the Jackets who are playing with heart this year...

Cheryl's right, they need a B or C game, like, play simple, clog it up, find a way to grind it out and help out your backup goaltender. You don't just fold.

That Bryan Hayes, also a co-host of TSN 1050 Radio's OverDrive, claimed the Leafs against those Blue Jackets had been the "same old" didn't surprise me one bit and was criticism those Leafs had so richly deserved. Serious players understand the need to win every game and prepare mentally and physically even for those games scheduled to take place under 24 hours apart.

Looks like Bryan Hayes got it all wrong failing to look at all the variables not doing there job properly huge loss for these 3 reporters hand over face.

@@lucianoserafino5872 I will decide to what extent to agree with what any reporter in the media says about the Leafs. Hayes was spot-on on that That’s Hockey segment although Sid Seixeiro, cohost of City-TV Toronto’s Breakfast TV, also had long been. Seixeiro, 2 years ago this month, claimed, following the Blue Jays’ loss of yet another opening-round playoff series, that although the 2018-19 Raptors that had ended that season of theirs with an NBA championship had been, in huge part thanks to Kawhi Leonard, a “serious team,” neither those Jays nor the 2021-22 Leafs had been one (video posted on the Real Talk Channel KZbin page and titled “Sid Seixeiro gives his thoughts on the Jays 8-1 lead collapse vs. the Mariners”). Seixeiro back then was right about the Leafs and still is.

as a tampa guy i applaud TOR for the shit-kicking they gave the bolts on monday night. that said, it's too early to make a judgement on this year's leafs or tampa teams. TBL is off to a good start but i remain skeptical of them being a deep p-off threat. after 20-25 games fans of both teams should have a better pulse on how good or bad TOR and TBL are.

The real problem is the core. No matter how much the media pumps their tires, the core can't change, this group will always play the same! core has to be split up, Marner, Reilly must go!
@wainber1
@wainber1 10 минут бұрын
@@ligadeportivau I look forward to seeing Marner, Morgan Rielly and Tavares GONE effective after the leafs have played the last game of their current season whether that game is a regular-season or playoff one. Brad Treliving was courageous to let goalie Ilya Samsonov walk into unrestricted free agency although that had been an excellent decision given how much of a sieve Samsonov so often last season had been.

Stolarz is the only difference on the team this year. It’s the exact same team they just have a better goalie that can steal games for them.

The goalie was the difference many times in there playoff runs so hopefully he is the one that takes them over the top. Fingers crossed Stolarz turns into a Superstar! now that he is healthy and no longer a number 2.

They have a so called #1 d-man that is a #3 at best on any real cup contender. Rielly doesn't hit, clear front of net, PK, 2nd PP unit and is on pace for 23 points. Does that sound like a d-man making 7.5 million a year. Right now top 5 overpaid d-men

Tanev and a too young Knies are the only real captain material on this team. Just because you are a great player does not mean you are captain material. Tanev and Knies will do whatever it takes to win, the so called big 5 don't have that DNA. This team will never win with Matthews as captain

Horrible game last night I agree, but every team Has those games they should’ve stayed home let’s see how they respond. It’s all in the process of learning how to win and we won’t know until playoff time.

Clearly a completely different team, only game 6 everyone take a deep breath lol. Columbus was well rested and leafs just come from a big game with a huge effort plus travel time takes tolls on athletes with an AHL goalie in net 2nd nhl game ever come on!!. Columbus with 2 days full rest there gonna come out guns blazing. there not gonna win every game. Its gonna be okay lol. These are hockey analysts Bryan Hayes what a joke lol.... Story line should read same old analysts getting it wrong again panicking for no reason. Off game chalk it up all teams have them. Lets look at all the variables isn't that what analysist are suppose to do? Come on do your job properly please, but this is typical with leaf media. A real analysist would not have panicked at all for this loss all three of you got this all wrong a big loss for these analysts worst reporting I have ever heard on a team that is extremely different than last year.

I get that game was awful but are we really going to cry this much over one bad game? Not one NHL team this season is going to play all 82 games to perfection. We hyper focused on the Leafs because its the hockey mecha but honestly all 32 teams lay an egg once and awhile.
