Halsey had a similar experience with her most recent album. One of my favorite musical experiences is watching artists grow into themselves, especially when they can make you feel it.
@tijanaself8974 жыл бұрын
@@superb00p Halseys is far less overcoming. She was always aware of being bipolar throughout her career unlike hayley with her struggles where she just now in her early thirties sought out treatment. Halsey already had medication for it and I believe also songs based on it in hfk, this is the first time we get to see hayley be open about it which makes it more captivating. This isn't meant to be mean at all i love manic too, its just theres very specific differences between these two journeys
@superb00p4 жыл бұрын
@@tijanaself897 I definitely agree with you there. Halsey has always been pretty in tune with her inner struggle. Not that Hayley hasn't, but she certainly hasn't been as expressive about it. Although, there are a lot of Paramore lyrics that would suggest otherwise. It's two different people so the experiences are going to be pretty different. There's a lot of things Halsey did own for the first time in her album in a pretty loud way as well. Saying their journeys are similar is not saying they are the same or invalidating either of them. It's more of a, "Hey if you're on this kind of journey, you should check out Halsey," kind of thing.

Lindsey Henderson We can only meet people as deeply as we’ve met ourselves. The brain does much much more emotional processing and *decision* making (deciding how it will perceive something in the future) in your unconscious mind than in your conscious mind, that in the context of unresolved issues, you won’t ever become alert to the majority of. The brain also does much much more noticing of signs in your unconscious mind, warning signs never reach the conscious mind if they’re connected in some way to psychological problems that your unconscious mind is making you avoid. If as you imply with “they almost always do” cheat, this has happened many many times, you definitely, and probably most them too had unresolved issues (average men don’t always get so emotionally involved with people they see with issues, whilst still going for sex). It was both you and them, whose unresolved issues cultivated such dysfunctional relationships. Women and men would be a lot better off for learning about behaviour and the braun before pointing fingers. It’s tricky because we’re so out of our natural habitat, especially our social one which is wired to all of our hormone and transmitter regulators (i.e. our behaviour and emotional perceptions), that mental health issues (and the irrational behaviour that comes with them) are so much more explosive. This isn’t at all meant to sound hostile, I’m neuroscientist. It’s still a baby subject but neuroscience has transformed in the past decade, undermining so many of our intuitions about relationships and behaviour., just trying to offer advice, sincerely. I can send you to any links to sources of the stuff i’m talking about if that would help, it’s really empowering to have newly discovered facts that help it all suddenly make more sense, much better than the false ideas “experts” on relationships / therapists have from 40 year old psychology theories .

Am I the only one enjoying this new beauty found in Hayley? I love how the orchestral arrangement pushes on the melody to build on something, yet she finds a way to hold the tension in check. What i find most satisfying in the timbre, is the way the melody wraps itself around your soul. It's not pushing for attention, it settling to heal the troubled heart. I feel like there's something really telling about Hayley's hair color over the years and now. before, she felt like she had to dye it bright colors in order for her true self to shine through. now, she keeps her hair a simple, elegant pale blond and lets the color shine through in every other way-- her personality, her music. we can all see she's a mystical painting of colors without her needing to express it through her hair.

*My interpretation of the chorus:* Roses are red and she is in roses which is a metaphor of being in a happy state of mind and self love. Violets are blue which is a colder colour and could represent dark times but she says she has no concern for those times, she doesnt even think about them cuz she's in a better place now. Lotus could represent the fruit (the result) of her efforts to grow. Also, could be a christian reference (look at the fruit, the fruit of the spirit). But she hopes that her growth (her fruit) won't cause jealousy in the eyes ("irises", the iris of the eye) of other people.

This is one of her most simple yet so fascinating song ever written. The bridge when she said ''I will not become a thorn in my one side'' feels so deep and meanfulling, cause most of us at one time in our lifes we have experienced this feeling. The screaming at the end of the bridge feels so liberating, angry yet so satisfying, so to speak; that we can still give a fight and break to the hell we're through. Idk if it's just me or whatever but the end of the song feels like when the sun comes after a rainy afternoon and you can see and feel the sun rays over the earth while everything still wet and the plants looks so green. Idk maybe I'm to emotional. But this song, this song right here is one of her most beautiful ever made and it saved me from very hard situations. Still makes me cry when the bridge comes. I cannot stop listening to this. Both the lyrics and the melody are incredible. I'm just-- in awe. Taylor and Hayley are geniuses and I'm so excited what the future brings for these legends.

So many comments are about Hayley saving us and protecting us and lifting us up during the quarantine and I can't express how beautiful I think that is

I wish I had this song in my first 2 years of high school, flowers were my comfort and I wrote about them all the time and this song is just about Hayley caring for herself to bloom back into her bright lovely petals. Thank you for releasing this because even though I’m not 14 anymore she still lives in me caring for the flowers and reading into their meanings and I’m happy she got hear this now 🥺💖

I love the double meaning "hopes it won't spark envy in your irises (eyes)" such a beautiful song. Her solo stuff has really been resonating with me as I'm healing from my own divorce and other losses. Thank you Hayley for sharing your honesty, vulnerability, and strength; your art is incredible!

Hayley, i will always feel very secure and happy (for me and you) when i see you keep being unapologetically pure against the things you go through. These two releases are really great. Stay safe

She reminded me of Björk here. It sounds like Bachelorette from Homogenic, which is my FAVORITE Björk album.
There is not a single time that I listen to this song and it doesn't blow my mind, my ears and my heart. This is a masterpiece.

🌹I will not compare other beauty to mine And I will not become a thorn in my own side And I will not return to where I once was Well I can break out the earth Come out soft and wild 🌹
