My absolute favorite AoT reactors. These ladies are so freaking perceptive, i can humbly admit that they have a better understanding of the show then i did my first watch. 😅

It also helps that they have been recommended correctly to watch Ilse's Notebook before season 2. For those unaware, Ilse's Notebook is the only ova written by Isayama himself...because it's actually part of the main story. It's the manga chapter just after Erwin and Levi accepted Eren into the scouts in that prison, and just before Eren's trial (ep 13 and 14 of the anime respectively). Remnants of this chronology can be seen with how Ilse's Notebook has the first opening song, and that opening song changes in ep14. Season 2 "assumes" you have read/seen Ilse's Notebook beforehand so you could interpret some scenes in it correctly. Notably, that subtle bombshell name reveal in s2 ep2, and some character's reaction. Ilse's Notebook being at the back of your head before those reveals really hammers in the world building planned by Isayama.

@@xkoehc it is, but in the sense that it's because the writer for No Regrets just based it on established info in the universe that Isayama has already developed, and they tried to be safe by not introducing elements which could be considered plot holes. Basically, they just made a story from that info that long ago, Levi was recruited by Erwin from the underground.

Sniffing guy was not only second to levi in skills but also Erwin right hand. He trusted him in things he didn't even tell Levi about like for example the mission to capture the female titan. He also was the one who captured Levi in the OVA. I honestly think he got super unlucky or he could have killed the beast or at least left the area. He was the first person to see a titan talks and this just shook him.

He was the first person to see titan's talk since Ilse, who reported it in her notebook which Hange, Erwin and Levi know about. As much as it sucks I think it was necessary to take Mike out early because of how high his skill was, and because of his uniquely powerful nose. He would have been much too powerful an asset later on if he was kept alive.

I’m not sure if anybody else has commented on the music before, but the music in Attack on Titan is made by Sawano Hiroyuki. People often compare him to the Hans Zimmer of the anime world. This show was the first to really make him as well known as he is today, and when you have Sawano on your show, you know the music is going to be insane. I’m happy y’all enjoy it so much and mention it a lot!

When you look back on pastor nicks behaviour back in season 1, youll see the true context behind his words. He knew all along about the titans in the walls, which is why he didnt want anyone interfering. During erens trial one of the merchants suggested reinforcing the walls, but nick interrupted him with such a disturbed face. Its when you realise why he was actually frantic about the idea. Also the name of the newly introduced titan is the same as the title of the episode: the beast titan.

Another funfact is that titan in the next episode "I'm Home" where ShaSha saved the little girl is Connie's father, with the mustache and all. Another titan should be the other little brother of Connie, Sunny, which should be the one with light colored hair (although it isn't shown as much). Another clue is around S4 (I forgot the specific episode) where they show the beast titan in Ragako, it showed those specific titan - the tiny titan, the mustache tiny titan, and the slightly bigger light haired titan, "transforming" near Connie's mother. Them being tiny is also a jab at Connie being teased multiple times as tiny.

Since you were curious about the names of the walls. Without spoiling, I can say that AoT is heavily influenced by the real world. The society inside the walls are partially based on Japan. The three walls from the inside out are named after the three countries from the geographically closest to the furthest from Japan: Sina=China, Rose=Russia, Maria=America. These three countries have left huge impact on Japanese history, and the author of the manga was probably thinking about these things when he created AoT.

The names are all German, and the VA are Japanese so there's an accent when they pronounce it. So "Mike" can be both mic or meek-ay.

Not all names, also if it were 100% German Levi would be pronounced Leh-vee, and not Lee-vai. It's a mix of name origins, Nanaba for example is most certainly not a German name, and neither is Mitabi, Rico/Riko or Aruo (Oruo? I never knew what the correct romanji was).
