⚽️. THIS IS THE TRUTH OF RICE’S RED CARD! Veltman kicks the ball into Rice’s foot ON PURPOSE so Rice simply flicks it away about 3 inches! Then Veltman kicks Rice hard AFTER he saw Rice flick the ball away from his own feet, pretending he’s trying to take the free kick trying to get Rice sent off! That’s a straight red card for Veltman for dangerous play it’s NOT a second yellow for Rice. Why does the ref ignore this?? Earlier in the match Pedro kicks the ball about 40 yards AFTER the ref has blown his whistle yet the ref ignored this, why?? Just like he allowed Brighton’s players to get away with yellow card fouls the whole match??? Where’s the refs common sense, honesty & consistency??? Ref was a COMPLETE shambles, didn’t know what he was doing! The ref’s INCORRECT decisions ruined that match, helped Brighton MASSIVELY & robbed us of three points AGAIN! It’s NOT OK when will this stop???!!! 🤬🤢🤮🤯💯

If the ball was still and Veltman wanted to play it fast and THEN Dec would kick it then fine, that's a yellow, but that's never a yellow, especially A SECOND YELLOW in this circumstance.

So when Pedro booted the ball halfway across the field when we wanted to take the throw in quickly nothing happened but when Rice taps the ball away (mind you the ball was still rolling when he took the freekick meaning it would've came back anyway) he gets a yellow/red. Every 50/50 went against us in that game and it doesn't help the Kavangah is a confirmed Man City fan. No wonder our win rate is almost 20% less than normal with this guy officiating our games. It's a disgrace.

I get the sending off was harsh, but in the rules it's a yellow. Saka and others are going down at every opportunity the way Ben White literally manhandles players at corners. Artetas touchline antics, etc., etc., to act like you don't get away with decisions yourself and it's some sort of conspiracy is just sour grapes and hilarious to watch.

Saka went down because he was being kicked around like a rag doll. because all referees are biased simple. You think it was by chance Wolverhampton got the wrong decisions against them over and over again? last year, ofcourse not. Look at todays game Arsenal player touches a Brighton player foul straight away. Brighton player goes into the back of Arsenal players, NO foul. This was happening since the start of the game. I called it in the first 10 mins to my friend the ref is bias towards Brighton and looked what happened, I was right. Just ask yourself do you think if this was Man City doing the same thing, the ref would have given a red? No way. Kovacic didn't get sent off when he tried breaking Odegaard's legs multiple times last year, you think that is just by chance, NO the refs are always bias.

IMO, the ball was already in play when Rice tapped it. The ball was dead at the spot where the foul (frankly, I didn't think Rice committed a foul) was committed. Veltman then kicks it forward as he is standing up, and then attempts to play it again after Rice kicks it.

Free kick can’t be taken on a moving ball. Veltman kicked the ball into Rice with his back towards the ball and tried to kick the moving ball . How is that obstruction or restart of the play if the play itself was illegal?

Brighton fan here: It's a horrendous call by the referee, of course, but hopefully it brings about a bigger question of the refeering in the PL. This kinda stuff has happened to us so many times it's madness across the last few years but goes unoticed because, well, we're Brighton. Hopefully with the amount of media exposure this will get, something will change! Anyway, i wish Arsenal the best of luck for the rest of the season, hopefully this game won't cost you in the end, you've a fantastic team, would be nice to see you win the league! 🙂🙂

I would genuinely love to see Arsenal win the league to take it off the cheats that are Man City and things like this that cost points should not happen if we want a fair league title race. Either Veltman has 200 IQ or he’s extremely lucky. Either way it’s pretty funny, makes Rice look petty and dumb af.

Always have I remember the Arsenal vs Manchester matches back in the day and we always got screwed by the refs. One time Vidic jumped with his arm full extended in height and punched a cross away with his fist. Everyone saw it but the ref. At the time I just rolled my eyes and thought typical. This was back before 2010. Things haven't changed at all.

Not only do you need to be perfect to beat 115 FC. You need to be perfect with such a margin that you eliminate any referee influence on the games which is near impossible. Liverpool managed it once in 9 years and then Klopp had enough of the undeniable bias.

If I didn’t know any better, I’d say this was blatant match fixing the way the ref officiated that game. Dude was handing out yellow cards to Arsenal players like business cards. It was getting to the point where I was surprised when he didn’t pull out a yellow for any Arsenal infraction. As others mentioned, the ball wasn’t even still for the free kick. Rice was walking away and the dude purposely rolled the ball into Rice’s feet. Rice barely tapped it away and gets kicked in the shin for his effort. The only player who got sent off was Rice. I don’t even think the guy who kicked him was carded at all! Talk about adding insult to injury. Absolute garbage refereeing. If that doesn’t warrant an investigation I don’t know what does.

Sam Blitz' write up for this match on Sky Sports is pitiful. He claims Veltman 'colllided' with Rice's leg and that Arsenal have a midfield crisis heading into the NLD. Firstly, Veltman behaved like an idiot the entire match and should have seen red for kicking Rice like that. Secondly, Jorghino is available to cover Rice's absence. No problem. Ian Wright said the referee has 'main character energy' and I totally agree. He loves being the centre of attention.

As a football fan I don't think that was fair booking on the side of Arsenal. The Brighton player simply played some simple psychological game with the referee's genius: let the ball roll a bit towards Rice (who is clearly walking away). Otherwise the Brighton player should have taken the free kick a bit further. Then Rice naturally taps the ball, because it's just so very close to his foot. Then the Brighton player kicks Rice while pretending to have intended to kick the ball and immediately claims obstruction.

I don't care what narrative you build but the first half saw multiple offences from Brighton not being punished with a card or even awarded as a free kick. Ref tries to get a grip of the game at the time Arsenal start retaliating because they feel hard done by the ref. Even Declan's first yellow should have been called back but because Rice doesn't fall to the ground he is punished for his following actions. Its the reason the story on inconsistencies is a major one

He filed an official complaint against Arsenal for celebrating an injury time winner against Bournemouth last season or season before. Man United fan Howard Webb and the PGMOL are corrupt and a joke. If the logic is Rice meddled with a free kick, the Free kick should have been taken 3 or 4 meters away from the incident. Veltman intentionally tried to send Rice off by kicking the ball towards him, Rice had a brain freeze and pushed a few yards out. Ref had the audacity to give a yellow to Rice for that knowing the fact it would be a Red Card that could potentially change the match, when he allowed Pedro to get away with kicking the ball away in the first half....also dont forget Veltman had a full blown kick on Rice as well...Fkin corrupt these PL refs

The Ref's know exactly what they are doing: even at the game against Villa last week. Gabriel was fouled before Villa got the chance to tap the ball in(thank God the chance was missed). It was the same ref who allowed Newcastle to get away with a foul on Gabriel and the score. It was the same ref who allowed Kovic to escape a straight red card and a second bookable yellow against Man City last season........

I find it odd that a league as good as the epl has inept refs. Its near impossible when there is also VAR. That being said, I think the refs are paid to fix matches so the organizers can place bets by using third parties and make huge gains on top of what they're making, possibly tax free!
