I remember those pool vacuums i use push them off the side when it came up to the surface. It's shutdown as it floats away and sinks. And sometimes I put my head under the water only to hear it come back on when it reaches the bottom

Great video! I take my vac to the local Leslie’s here and they replaced the gearbox A few weeks ago but I am noticing my guy never turns to the left. I’m thinking it may be something in the upper assembly? It’s just making right hand turns. Maybe a piece of hair or something stuck In the turbine gears?. I might try and take it apart after watching your video.

I have a new pool & pump and all that and mw old hayward lady bug will not move but if I take it out and shoot a hose up the bottom the feet will start moving like it should. Why won't it work on a pool w/ 17psi?

Please add a video on reassembly. I replaced all the internal parts, but still the vac stalled at the steps. Took it apart, again and again, still stalled. Finally, off I when to a pool store where the tech corrected the problem. No charge.

Thank you! I've had Hayward pool vacs for over 20 years. Replaced a few! Your videos have encouraged me to delve into self-repair. Saved over $300 by ordering online replacement parts. Watched the repair process over and over, but still manage to reassemble incorrectly. Seemed good to me, but still stalled. Regards, retired electronics engineer Tom Mc.
