Mine did usual buzzing and last year it would get real hot some days and the pump would buzz right away, but usually started after cooled. This year we opened, buzzed after working first time of season day before, I spun the shaft with flathead and it moves pretty good- so I was thinking some kind of starter capacitor, looking for it like maniac, glad you told me there is none on SP1515 model (like yours)- but I don't know what else to do, only 3 seasons old! Guess have to buy new one since the "jump start shaft and turn on" trick doesnt work

Hi, Awesome video. You wouldn't have a picture of the spots to connect the power cord would you? Cord burned and I replaced and just want to make sure I hooked up the replacement cord correctly. Thanks!!!!

I wonder if you can help me. I have a Hayward matrix power flo 2 speed above ground pool pump and I need to change the switch. Here ia my problem. The back of the pump does not have that cover that comes right out with one screw. Mine has two holes in wich seem to have flat screws. But even if I unscrew these, the back does not pull out. I did not take the screws completely out not knowing if it is ok to do so. Can you help me in telling me exactly how to reach that switch. Thanks

Somewhat off topic - what do you think if using this model pump on an in ground pool. My biggest concern would be its ability to pull suction since above ground pools have positive head so I assume these pumps are not designed to do pull suction as well as an in ground pool pump.

One screw in middle, not the two large ones

What would cause the humming if this doesn’t have a start capacitor? I have a brand new one that won’t start just hums. Although impeller spins freely.

Then im 99% sure its your cyntrifical switch its contacts probly are corroded or got sand on them i made a video on my channel on how it fixed mine. I did a terrible job showing what i was doing inside my pump but i was just pushing on that red ring that i showed is ment to pop up or down you'll know what i mean if you watch my video. If you decide to watch it make sure to read the description for safety precautions
