Thanks. Been looking to do this, but wasn’t sure what to use

the drain overflow hol eis very small. Plug that one. Drive a 1 inch hole and use a 45 elbow , add a hose and run it away from the pool to a drainage area.

I am going to have to do this!!! My saltwater pool rusted at the ground under my skimmer (15 years old) and having to get a new pool and wanted to prevent this from happening again. Thank you!!!!

You said your in north Georgia how close are you to Chattanooga? I’m afraid if I do this I will ruin my pool because I’m not good at stuff like this. I was born and raised in Ringgold ga.

was you worried that skimmer might bust or is the plastic soft enough?

Good question! I used a new drill bit and went slowly. My skimmer was only one year old so the plastic wasn’t brittle.

@@SafeTravelRV mine is at least 7 years and maybe a little brittle

Drill slow with a new spade bit. the 2 part putty is great for repairing cracks if needed.

Did you have to drain your skimmer so you could wash out any of the shavings from drilling the hole?

No, I left the basket in and using the spade bit, very few shavings, just the round disc.
