Whew, I really hope you're not itching to use a lot of these things in the "field". Some items are dubious even for semi-trained enthusiasts - decompression needle (do you know where/how to decompress pneumothorax) suture kit (please don't suture open wounds, the bleeding will likely continue underneath, and you're trapping pathogens underneath) OP airways (if anything, NP would be preferrable) and Quicklot (reacts with the wound surface to stop bleeding, yes, but the remaining layer will then have to be debrided by surgical intervention = pain in the ass for the hospital staff receiving your pt) What I really want to get across is that you are very eager (a good thing!) but perhaps diving in too deep for a realistic situation. 95% of cases, you will be fixing low blood sugars, relieving allergy/nausea/pain symptoms, treating minor cuts and keeping people comfortable until help arrives. What would I suggest? To cut way, way down. As good as it would be to EDC an ambulance's worth, I can't help but imagine you getting tired of lugging this huge thing around and never using it. I would make a small but foolproof IFAK to store within your ordinary EDC bag. Think the same meds (maybe in rigid, waterproof containers), a much smaller amount of gauze that you frequently rotate, some Tegaderm (great for covering wounds in all sorts of places), tape, stuff to keep you warm. That way, you will be using 100% of your supplies (no expiration) and you'll be confident with them. Then, build up slowly... Perhaps once you take that EMS course or two, you will get some hands on practice with, say, splinting - and then add a flexible metal finger split. You'll learn when to torniquet (hint: as a last resort), and you can add that. I admire your desire to be prepared and to help, but I also don't want you to "burn out" with this level of prep, and definitely not trying some interventions way above you, putting someone in danger and yourself in a legal gray zone.

Dmitri Belenko So if you had a patient with an obvious arterial hemorrage(bright red blood spurting from the wound) You're saying that you would attempt direct pressure and elevation before you used a tourniquet?? I get what you're saying but its not ALWAYS a last resort.

this kit is head and shoulders above your little red kit it opens wide and everything is readily available! kudos to you 1 small suggest move or add a second set of shears to the main compartment that way you don't have to flip open and close the main part i like the way you use the outer sections for minor wound treatments and over flow items and you reserve the main for compartment for trauma when you are packing a kit think of your medical protocols and build to that need

Good pack. Instead of sugar, you can carry small packets of honey. Great for low blood sugar, can be used as an antiseptic and is a good source of energy

I do second a previous comment regarding your microstream being too bright. It can cause several problems up to and including causing someone already having seizures to have another. Been there done that. As both an Army Medic and street Medic, ive always used a light intended for the use of pupillary dilation.

You should really make and EMT-B class one of your priorities. I can tell by your videos that you really do seem to have a passion for wanting to help in emergency/medical situations. I have volunteered in a busy EMS system for almost a year and I've quickly learned that VERY few EMTs/Paramedics actually share that passion. As always, great video.

That bag seems to actually be a great size for a smallish kit and your supplies are not crammed in there like the previous bag you had. So overall great set up.

The lights to bright for checking pupil dilation, and you should really get some training so you or your patient are not at risk. Your not covered under Good Samaritan laws if you have these things and use them on somebody. You have very good intention but without training it's kind of illegal .

TTS_Airsoft Actually most states you ARE covered under Good Samaritan Laws.

TTS_Airsoft Thank you for the heads up on the light, I didn't know that. As I've said multiple times in this, and my previous videos, I do not intend to use some of these items myself. I just have them in case someone WITH the knowledge happens to be around, the items I am not comfortable using take up little to no space, so why not have them just in case. Other items which I would use are just blood stoppers, I have enough training to know how to stop bleeding haha. And in Georgia (the state I live in) I would in fact be covered under the good Samaritan law.

The light is fine, you’ll just have to angle it at 45 degrees, and get it close to the pupil, it will react to the light. And also, even if not for that, you mention the use for looking st wounds , so I think it’s great for that, love the kit and your organization.

Hey Sherm, you should consider becoming a first aid instructor. You're a good speaker and seem very knowledgeable and passionate about first aid. Great review bro.

Why are you carrying a decompression needle but aren‘t even EMT-B-trained? And sutures? Come on..😐 Carry what you‘re allowed and well trained to use please. And tampons for wounds? Please go get some classes like first aid, CPR and bleeding control... Tampons DO NOT WORK FOR BLEEDING CONTROL and were never meant to be part of a first aid kit. They are designed what they‘re designed for - absorbing moderate ammounts of blood very slowly without stopping the bleeding. And that‘s what they do with wounds. People still keep bleeding. And bleed out.

I mentioned that I carry them not to use myself, but in case I'm in a group situation where there might be a doctor or EMT that might not have their kit, I have one someone can use. 90% of the items in this kit are just their for a "just in case"
