anyone else fail their theory because they saw the hazards wayy before the test allows it to register?

I was working almost 8 years like a professional driver, doing pick up service for agency employees, bringing them to and from work. Every year about 75000 miles (more than most taxi drivers do) and I have never had an accident with my fault. Before that I was driving on 7 European countries, right and left side of the road, on sometimes very difficult weather conditions (ice, snow, heavy rain etc.) Also, I was attend many off road racing for amateurs and few for professionals. Today I FAIL Hazard Perception test for taxi drivers, only because I was probably to fast and clicked always on time when I saw hazard and only once on one hazard ( why should I do that more btw? - especially when it was told that you cant click to many times, because you can fail because of that ). Result : overall score 51. I can say one think: this Hazard perception test its a joke. You dont have to be a good driver, you just have to click, click, and click- that's what my friend done, and he pass it with 68 points and I'm afraid to drive with him, especially on the rush hours, because he is terrible driver...

Absolute waste of my time , I felt confident I had passed after clicking the mouse for every developing hazard correctly then to find because I am an experienced driver I got penalised, I have been told to click the mouse 2 seconds after I've addressed the event . Not happy dvsa, another money spinner in my opinion , the best bit about this, is you can't even complain

I am not a biker but have been driving since I am 18 and cycling in the last 7 years and was shocked to see that I had failed the hazard perception for motorcycle. I'm seeing the Hazard develop a lot sooner than the test allows! In 4 clips I scored 5. In 2 clips I scored 4. In 1 clip I scored 3 and in 6 I scored 0.

Yeah it's completely stupid, you shouldn't be penalised for spotting a hazard too early. It just completely defeats the purpose of the PERCEPTION of a hazard. They should either make it so there is no such thing as spotting a hazard too early or just remove this part of the test completely.

I failed my test because of this, it is ridiculous, you have to click when the hazard actually happens rather than being too cautious

I'm 35 and just decided to start to learn. I've cycled on the roads for a few years so hoping that some of the knowledge I've learned will come in handy. Driving certainly won't replace short commutes, but would be handy for work. HOpe I'm not too old to learn!

Ok I failed Yesterday! Scored 63.On 3 clips cored 0. But how can I learn, if I don`t know what I did wrong? Did I click few milliseconds too early like I do when I`m practicing on app or I didn`t see a potential hazard! Needs upgrading video card or something videos were lagging!

I have passed my test on 6th of March 2019. I used DVSA official web site and The Complete Motorcycle Theory and Hazard Perception Test 2019 (Dts) from Amazon and learned the Highway code and was practicing HP clips for month. Scored 63 of 75 possible. I was surprised to find out the clips on my actual test, differed form the learning resources, as all of them were CG edited, same as one shown in this video, with fairly low driving speed. I took the test on 24" monitor. Not great clip quality, but good enough to spot the hazards. The clips online have had worse quality. I have clicked twice on each hazard spotted to make sure I don't click too early. Total up to 6-7 clicks on clip.( Don't know how on the clip with two hazards I scored 10 btw) For one of the clips I scored zero for clicking in "unconsidered manner" for 5 clicks only. Probably, I wasn't clicking on the actual hazard. I would say it was easier than practice clips online and if you buy any DVDs, so don't get stress, don't give up. Practice and go for it.

Would you fail the clip if you clicked when you saw the developing hazard, but then clicked again whilst it was continuing to develop? I.e. clicking twice within the 5 second countdown timer?

The only real way you can pass this part of the test is either by luck or by failing and then knowing how the click penalty works when you do it again.

Every year around 1.5 million hazard perception tests are taken as part of the theory test, with an average pass rate of 85% for the hazard perception part. The best way to pass is to prepare properly for the test: www.gov.uk/theory-test/revision-and-practice

I purchased The official DVSA Complete Theory and Hazzard perception DVD, and on the hazzard perception DVD the test only has 10 clips on the actual test yourself part. All the videos are the same every time on the new CGI clips. There should be more CGI clips on there, as this is the new way introduced for 2015 the way the test will be conducted.

Hi. You just need to click - you don't have to click in the place on the screen where the hazard is developing.

I heard that in the actual hazard perception test there is no cursor and you just click the mouse. Is this true or will there be a cursor on screen (as in the practice tests)
@dvsagovuk
@dvsagovuk 8 жыл бұрын
+Annie There isn't a cursor in the actual test. You don't need to actually click on the object in the video that you think is a developing hazard - just click the mouse button as soon as you see the hazard start to develop.

The computer only "thinks" what you're clicking for is your actual score, how can you be clicking for potential hazards if you don't get scored on it? but only do out of 2 developing hazards out of 14 clips? load of bull in my eyes.

You need to score at least 44 out of 75 points to pass the hazard perception part of the theory test. You need to get at least 43 out of 50 of the multiple-choice questions right. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px 'Helvetica Neue'; color: #454545}

In my DVSA DVD I always click 3 times in a row very quick because I often see hazards too early, so I click a few times. I know the limit on the DVD is 10 clicks so I count. When I tried random website hazard perception tests I was failed because I clicked 3 times in a row too quick and according to them that is a not allowed. Now which tests are correct and like the original one? Will i fail if i click 3 times fast in a row?

@SuperKawaiiChannel
@SuperKawaiiChannel 7 жыл бұрын
...better even if you click on a real hazards you still may not score too many points, and when you click before the actual hazard begin to occur you usually score 0 points! You have to only click on real hazards and within specified by DVSA time frame! Which makes it more a lottery/game than a learning approach or a proof you will be safe on the road and able to avoid hazards or avoid to cause hazards! HPT does not make any sense in any way! You can drive weeks, months with an instructor or a supervisor that meet UK's learning driver requirements yet you can keep failing hazard perception test because of those stupid rules! This whole system is not only contradicting itself but is a simply money making machine!

@dvsagovuk
@dvsagovuk 7 жыл бұрын
You get points for spotting the developing hazards as soon as they start to happen. A developing hazard is something that would cause you to take action, like changing speed or direction. Example: A car is parked at the side of the road and isn’t doing anything. It wouldn’t cause you to take action, so it’s not a developing hazard. When you get closer, the car’s right-hand indicator starts to flash and it starts to move away. You’d need to slow down, so it’s now a developing hazard. You can score up to 5 points for each developing hazard. To get a high score, click the mouse as soon as you see the hazard starting to develop. You don’t lose points if you click and get it wrong. However, you won’t score anything if you click continuously or in a pattern.

In the video demonstration ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZW0g56jmc2qgNU ) the white van will make any driver to change the direction to avoid passing by it too closely. A driver could open its dorr and cause an accident. The passing driver must change its direction, avoiding to be too close to the van, but it seems you do not consider it a hazard. My deer!
