As someone who played him. He's fun imo. But the characters that will make his life harder are probably Ana and Sombra. My teammates only made a comment that he's "small". But he can definitely to some big damage and leave and I can see him getting paired with ana or Juno as his supports

I got bullied by an ana my first game with him, it was sad XD still had a ton of fun with him though. I usually like Winston for dive tank so it feels so weird to be so bad against armor now though XD it's nice that his leap is on such a short cooldown so you can do decent damage to armor with that, but between the block and shotgun, it's hard to get through it. Still a ton of fun though

my first impression of his kit is that he feels like a 6v6 off tank his whole kit just feel supportive rather then raw damage. (thb he could use some buffs to his survivability)

@@CrackedMidsoles he can use his ult for follow up attacks. He can use his "wall" to deny acces to certain spaces or help give extra cover for the main tank. his leap/slash is his only "self" ability

I still stand by the idea that plenty of heroes should have a ledge climb. Not a full wall climb, but ledge climb. Heroes like Tracer, Ana, and other people not carrying heavy equipment. (Sorry Rein) Short ledges seem fair to me.

I always hate it when there's a new overwatch character and instead of saying they have unique abilities, overwatch players just say it's a meshed version of half of the cast.

I mean.. Mei wall Winston leap but with meel3 damage Shimada wall climb Doom power block Mei freeze ult but instead of full cc is just a lock in place one

It's just a point of reference. His abilities are actually a bit different than the others; his wall damages, his leap is shorter than Winston, his ult grounds fliers, etc. But if you're just trying him out the first time knowing "oh, it's like this thing you've played before" is very helpful and less overwhelming.

I love how his crystal wall looks like it was ripped straight out of Paladins. I love that game in spite of how bad it kind of is objectively. But I mean wow that wall ability looks bad. And I do mean looks. Visually. Looks very fun to use though.

I mean if we’re being honest don’t all tanks have some form of defensive action? The only one I can think of that doesn’t is Junkerqueen, but she has a smaller hit box, life steal & commanding shout to increase health and speed.

@ they do. But not all tanks actively punish players who still shoot during that action. That’s just doom (empower) and zarya (building charge) and now this guy. It’s the ability creep that’s frustrating.

@@ashtond9044 It’s got a extremely short range and does very little damage, you’d have to be playing stupidly close for it to really have any major effects. The only time I can see it being useful is when you dive in using his ability and then start blocking but the little damage it does wouldn’t really make it worthwhile. To me it seems more like a method to prevent people from pushing up on him when he’s low health but again the little amount of damage it does isn’t that big of a turn off if you want to try and finish the job. If we’re talking about any ability that’s going to be annoying I would be focusing more on the wall but I’ll have to see what it’s like to actually play against.

I haven't gotten to play with/against him yet but he looks miserable to play against. I'm so tired of spending all match getting thrown around or stuck in place. And now we have a tank with all of that plus he can chase even some of the more mobile heroes relentlessly.

The wall isn't too big, and his knockback overall isn't that strong compared to others. I definitely already played against him, a venture, and a zen who were just juggling me though XD on his own though it's not too bad

We already have so many heroes that have CC in their kit, that it's getting to the point where entire stacks can basically throw you around or root you, or both. It's getting ridiculous, and this guy is just adding crazy mobility (especially for a tank) and health to the mix.

Not wanting to sound negative here but man, did they outdid themselves in boredom! Its like playing doomfist with slightly different tuned abilities. You have a game like this and the freedom to do ANYTHING you think of, and you come up with this. Another winston/doomfist tank.
