"And im not going to do a Mock Up. Which you should not do. EVER! but im going to anyway." The chaos Energy in that statements speaks to my Soul!
@phoenixperson82962 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely awe-inspiring. Quick-change dresses are so mesmerizing and complicated, yet you just made one without a mock--up in two days? And it turned out this amazing? How you do this without magic is beyond me, you are insanely talented!

I am so sorry for your sewing machine - new ones just are not the same... and who needs thousands of decorative stitches when your needle does not manage to pass through more than three layers of denim anyways? To me you are the official queen of quick changes! Thank you very much for explaining your fabric choices and how those influence the changeability. Also I am very glad that you show when something does not work according to plan. My friends often only see the results and never understand what struggle it is to create a costume. It feels so good that even experienced costume designers like you face these struggles - and overcome them. That encourages me much more than only seing the perfect outcomes of your work. You did a really nice job.

I have not seen Westworld. That’s gold halter style dress is very flattering on most ladies.

I gotta disagree because I think it's moderately flattering on some, truly flattering on a very few, and absolutely awful on quite many. Then again I don't like gold fabric.

Gurrrrrlllll, i CANNOT believe you have so little subscribers on this channel! You are so so talented, I honestly thought you have at least ~100k subs before I saw the actual number. Hope it’ll become more popular soon, crossing my fingers for your success! P.S. - The dress (or the dresses?) turned out amazing, and also I personally really like seeing the creating of something that is inspired by the movies/series etc.

That shrug after "It shoulf just slide off. We'll see." Is so French. I love it.
@lynetteclauser35512 жыл бұрын
I agree, modern machines, you can have them. Parts always breaking, that for some reason don’t have replacements, and can’t sew thick layers or odd material like clear vinyl. And if it got any kind of computer chip, it is either a fortune to repair or is considered obsolete and can’t be repaired. Give me an old heavy metal, mechanical machine. I’ve got an old Singer and an old industrial called here in the states “a greenie”.

That worked very well. We used to do a four color costume change with the same dress back in the early 1980's but I do not know where we purchased it from. It was awful colors like blue to red, to orange, to green. And it did have some weights in the lower hem to make it unroll faster.

Gertrude is a Bernina which was made in Switzerland. There is nothing that can go wrong with this machine that cannot be fixed. Most repairs for machines like this take almost no time at all and with your skills, you can likely do it yourself with a few simple tools. There are lots of youtube videos about repairing these machines and there are on-line groups of hobbyists who share repair information who will answer all your questions. You cannot buy a new machine of this quality. Get if fixed, or better still, fix it yourself and it will sew for another 60 years. If the repair person you consult tells you it cannot be fixed, he or she is incompetent or not telling the truth. There is nothing that can go wrong with a vintage Bernina that cannot be easily fixed.
