Zestial, the oldest of the overlords is the biggest enigma to me personally. It's not even known what motivates him. All we know about Zestial is that he's by far the oldest overlord, is close friends with Carmilla Carmine and has the respect of other overlords, including Alastor, with the exception of Velvette obviously. I wonder how Vox and Valentino think about him though, they might not approve of Velvette's stance on the meeting. Maybe.

What I like about Zestial is that he seems to genuinely respect Alastor and Carmilla, and comes off as almost friendly. However the reaction people give him on the street indicates he’s someone to be feared. I hope they expand on him next season

We can narrow down his date of death based on his use of thou/thy. Those words started being used in the 1300s, and stopped being used in the 1600s; so that's a 300-year window where he could be from.

I love all of the little background details that are so easy to miss on a first viewing: 9:20 Alastor tasting the angel's head, followed by 9:29 where you can actually see the moment Velvette realizes Carmilla knows something about the angel's head. Respectless is such a great showing for Velvette, she may be disrespectful, but it's not just out of arrogance or short-sightedness, it's calculated. She's trying to get a rise out of Carmilla, and she does. Instead of claiming she doesn't know about the exorcist, Carmilla shuts down the whole meeting, which might as well have been a confession. 12:07 I love Husk's little 🎵F*ck this sh*t I'm out🎵 in the background, sneaking away while Vaggie's throwing the others over. 14:02 Carmilla sings 🎵I'll keep you safe🎵 which we're given to assume is about her daughters, but the way she looks straight at Zestial as she does, as well as his reaction, makes me think she also wants to protect her friend as well, and Zestial is either confused by the concept of motherly love, or that she would be worried for him, someone for whom people would rather self-immolate than remain in the presence of. Either one is so interesting and something I hope they get more into in later seasons.

Did you see how nervous Alastor got for a second, when he met Zestial on the street? Even the the Pilot was mentiond Alastor had destroyed Overlords who were dominant for centuries (whatever that means and the old canon was kinda over-written) anyway.. these few Overlords are still there.. all of them must be really powerful and will have a bigger role in Season 2. Hopfully Zeezie the Dinosaurlady.

The Plot Thickens, we have now been introduced to pretty much all of the Overlords except Two, I hope we get to learn more about them. Anyway, apparently Season 2 will have more Solo Numbers. Also, next Episode will be intense, I will look forward to see how you take it. By the way, ever heard of Epithet Erased? It’s a very interesting and Charming Series, with a very unique Style, I would like to see you react to it.

The Vees are def. a Problem because they are plotting and don't care of the given order in hell..sure Velvette of them is a loud, overconfident brat but i won't underestimate her of the Vees in general. Also Carmilla is really interesting, acutally like caring for her daughters and i really like to know more about her relationship with Zestial..and maybe what's his deal is..

Carmilla Carmine, one of the overlord's of hell and Zestiel participate in two songs this episode: Carmilla sings about respecting her friend, Zestiel sings about not wanting to risk more souls through attacking recklessly. Second song: Carmilla sings about doing what was necessary at great personal risk to protect the people she loves and how that is her primary motivation. Zestiel coaxes this out of her by appealing to her and his friendship. While it's harder to say anything about Zestiel since we know so little about him, Carmilla is ostensibly motivated by a desire to protect the people she cares about: That is both human and something we associate with good. On the flip side: The only denizens of heaven we've met Adam and Lute are overly antagonistic, foolish, arrogant, and blinded by a hubris that'd make Spanish Inquisition or the Crusades brim with envy. My point: How in the hell is Hell not better than Heaven at this point? Everyone is flawed in Hell sure, but they at least show self-awareness and growth. Such a wild concept to be seen done so effectively.

There is the point you made that we have only seen 2 people from Heaven yet, and both are part of the Exterminations... (I mean I have watched the series already all the way through but for those who are at episode 3 only yet, not much to know about Heaven at all, only about two exterminator-a-holes.)

@@richardkutsera4992 I wanted to make sure that that point stood clearly because yes, thus far we've only seen Heaven represented by Adam and Lute. I don't want to go too far into spoilers so as to make sure DND gets to enjoy it as they watch it. But yes. As this goes further on this point, I made only becomes more asserted to me, but the moment I realized in this episode on how fundamentally noble Carmilla is within the context of the community she inhabits, I was kind of struck with a sort of awe.

Well you’re not guaranteed hell just for not having sex before marriage as far as I’m aware, but there are general guidelines that usually should be aimed for in this sense. It’s usually seen as a pure thing to do which would help their chances. It would kinda be like him saying he won’t kill anyone, do drugs, etc.

If people would only get to Hell for the harshes sins, there would not be an overpopulation problem that needed to be taken care of by YEARLY exterminations.

I get why people who were murderers and cannibals could be there, but there are lots of people there and it’s left kind of vague. There are billions on the planet and people die all the time, so I guess there could technically be lots who go there, idk. But we know that they exterminate in fear of an uprising and to control power so it’s not even a population thing to begin with.

I can say that we got another HB voice actor in this series. As we gotten James Monroe who done Ozzie and Vortex from Helluva Boss to do Zest’s voice. 😄 Also I like to share a bit of insight for the Duo song of Carmilla and Vaggie. During Vaggie singing “I be your Armor” and “You bring me in” seems to be interesting lines in the song that make you think on what sort of life was Vaggie before she met Charlie. And what does she mean by “Armor” 🤔 So with all said, Carmilla was mentioned in Helluva Boss by Striker having a “Blessed Carm Rifle” to kill Stolas during the “Harvest Moon Festival” episode.
