I love the 8 words joined together to describe what Lucifer is to Adam is in this comment xd I mean, it also just makes sense. Lucifer's the first angel he's ever seen (if we assume that they've even met before his fall), and I wouldn't blame Adam if that image of Lucifer being this out-of-this-world, holy being is still imprinted in his brain. I love the idea that you portrayed (imo) where Adam saw Lucifer who had so much more knowlege than him, and when Lilith/Eve came to him with the apple, and seemed happy and went with Lucifer i feel like Adam wanted to follow and therefore bit the apple. and then i like the idea that he was pacified when he died in heaven to believe "no you didnt do anything wrong" or "it was eve/lilith/lucifer who made you bite the apple" and that snowballed into him thinking he's higher than god himself/invincible.

Eve and Lilith are actually two different people! Lilith was the first woman created as Adam’s equal but that meant she was her own person free spirited and Adam didn’t like that so Lilith eventually left the garden and then met with lucifer, and eve is the one that was created from Adam’s rib aka being apart of him and submissive

I genuinely cried at this. Especially the end. I've always had an alt view of Adam, that he was made to genuinely believe he's doing the right thing. I mean he thinks he's killing bad people... that's what heroes do. So I've always seen things more from his point of view than the average fan, from what I've seen. I've even written a fanfic about him and Charlie meeting in hell after he reincarnates there, and having a breakdown of walls and connecting on the fact that they are both trying to look out for their people. And basically Adam breaks down about how hard it's been for him and how much pressure he's been under to protect heaven. So this animatic was so so beautiful and perfect. Absolutely nailed the depiction of how fucked this whole thing has been for Adam. It doesn't excuse what he's done, but as a wise cannibal once said, isn't that silly hotel all about redemption?

Something I appreciate about this animatic is how it isn't a huge diversion from what we see in the show, but rather adds smaller expansions that unfortunately I felt the actual show didn't delve into. (Such as his time in the garden and the shock of him being the first human in heaven.) A chance to put aside all the charades Adam puts up to look like the big man on top and see him as the fallen from grace sad sack that he is. Considering how careless the angels seem to be, I'm not surprised at all Adam turned out to be such a spoiled brat. A fascinating antagonist that I feel was killed off far too soon. The art was wonderful, nearly every frame is wallpaper worthy.

This is an amazing job! (I'm sorry for the mistakes. English is not my language) It seemed to me that the audience began to talk more about Adam and how he assesses the circumstances. In my opinion, Adam is in the same depression as Lucifer, with the only difference that he hides it better. At least Adam has several reasons for depression. I can't know how canonically Vivien decided to include Adam's story in her project, but there are quite a few things he could have gone through. Firstly, it is the loss of at least two partners. We do not know how truthfully Adam and Lilith's relationship developed in the book from the first series, but I think that when you and your partner are created for one specific purpose, and then that partner leaves, it is, to put it mildly, unpleasant. In addition, I think that replacing Lilith in the person of Eve made it clear to Adam that he SHOULD be what heaven wants, because replacing him would not be a problem. After Eve eats the fruit and Adam loses his head (I'm a proponent of the theory that they were banished to earth together because they somehow inhabited this world). I can assume that perhaps Adam is angry with Lucifer not even because of the situation with the wives, but because it was because of Lucifer's actions that Adam lost his paradise life for the first time. Think about it... A world where everything is fine, where you don't have to work, where you can't get sick, grow old and die. And because of one dude with his vision of the world, you lose him, forced to work on a creepy wasteland and somehow create a family in such vile conditions. Adam may also have wanted to kill Charlie in episode eight to hurt Lucifer, because he understands perfectly well what it means to lose a child. One comment broke my heart. Someone suggested that when Adam and Eve saw Abel dead, they tried for a long time to wake him up because they did not know what death was. Adam died and went to heaven as the first man. So his son wasn't there. According to the Bible, Adam's children lived for almost a thousand years thanks to divine health. So it's hard for me to imagine how long Adam was alone before other people showed up. There is one more detail that haunts me. Who invented extermination? Of course, you can immediately think of Adam, but in general, heaven was inclined to act cruelly if they did not like something. It is enough to recall the great flood. One can imagine Adam's face when, because "humanity has become too sinful," the whole world, with the exception of the family and two individuals of each animal, was flooded. That is, animals, men, women and children, did not even know if they were good. Adam literally saw the painful destruction of his descendants. And if you think about how much Adam has seen over the years....as a warrior, a Catholic, and about the vices of people (banal slavery or witch hunts), it becomes really nauseating. After that, exterminating only half of the population of hell once a year (if they are in hell, they are considered bad) sounds like a harsh form of punishment. I can point out a few details that may indicate that Adam is in trouble. 1) He hides himself as much as possible. I mean his body. Despite the loose dress code in paradise and his love of rock, he still wears the most closed clothes, which does not allow him to see anything except his hands (which are wearing gloves or something similar). And despite his complacency, possessing literally golden wings, he does not hold them behind his back as demonstratively as angels, but simply lowers them and holds them by the sides. 2) His habits. Adam is a resident of paradise, so he can't have fun like the same Angel. I don't think there are clubs or anything like that. I think people who don't drink alcohol or something like that will understand me. If it doesn't fascinate you, but you feel empty or in pain, you try to suppress it in other ways. You often eat without feeling particularly hungry, you may have promiscuous sexual relations, perhaps you are sarcastic towards others or just snap at them...... It seems to me, or I described Adam. This guy lost his home in the form of Eden, his children, two partners and the legacy of humanity. Okay, I'm tired of writing this. I just wanted to share my thoughts because I've been thinking about it for a long time. I didn't want to make the other characters look worse or say that Adam is an absolute victim, but I see that there are details that say that things are not so simple with him.

THAT SERA AND ADAM SCENE BROKE MY HEART INTO PIECES. I love how the flashback starts from here: 3:06 In the series, Adam was always so confident and in his element at all times except when Sera reprimands him here. All of a sudden he gets shy and awkward, like for the first time we see him regretting something he did... "He really respects Sera" is what I thought at the time, but that emotional scene between the two here is great! It saddens me that he really felt bad to disappoint her in that moment... Where he cries and they hug, the lyrics make me think he didn't think of himself as deserving to be an angel? And Sera reassures him? But in that moment where he messes up and Sera looks at him so upset and with such disappointment is like his insecurities come back to him... Thank you so much for this wonderful animatic, I keep repeating it. The art, the music choice, the story, I love everything.

I have been playing this on repeat because it's gorgeous, so here's a few of my favourite things about it in no particular order: - The way you drew Eden is beautiful, the colours are so vibrant and kind of space-y - the wings are so SHAPE!! - all the flash frames are gorgeous, stunning, beautiful. - the texture on the colouring scratches my brain - all the expressions are SO GOOD I can FEEL THEM - the scene with Adam arriving in heaven and Sera greeting him makes me feel things every time I see it - speaking of Sera, her and Emily's freckles are so cute!! Matches the colouring style here far better than it would have if you'd done the spots like the art style of the show - the animations on Adam's expressions at 0:27 and 4:03 is so fucking smooooooth - All the blur and camera movement effects give the animatic so much dimension! - the bottom of their eye lineart being the same colour as their eyes is very pretty - the doodles on the "nowhere! never!" paper that Lute holds up are so canon-accurate I love that - the fancy background fractals behind the characters in some shots are so cool I think that's mostly it but if I find even more details I love I will edit this message to add them

Okay hi I'm back again because this masterpiece keeps sucking me in. One thing I fell in love with about this animatic was the song choice, and it prompted me to do a little bit of research into the meaning of the song and the lyrics themselves. Essentially, the entire song is an extended metaphor for a failing relationship, being told from the perspective of the Earth speaking to the moon. Adam, in this case, is our Earth-fitting, considering he is the first human, the first "earthling"-but the moon is a little more complicated than that. The moon is the divine and the infernal, heaven and hell, otherworldly non-human beings, with Lucifer serving as the culmination of all of that. It's applied to more than just Lucifer-sometimes the moon is Charlie, sometimes it's Sera, sometimes it's heaven or hell as a whole, etc-but my point is that Lucifer is this big figure in Adam's mind and our metaphor for the moon, the beginning and the end. Putting my other comment here because it's relevant to the point: "the detail of luci frequently being depicted with heaven behind him in the background like a halo............. i LOVE the idea of luci being this big revered figure in adam's mind, this weird muddled image of a crush-rival-angel-creator-of-sin-otherworldly-being. even a fallen angel, the king of hell, is beautiful, and holier than you will ever be." Think about how you might feel literally being the first non-divine being, the first human, in what it truly means to *be* human-intrinsically flawed. You might develop a complicated view of divine beings as well! Even when arriving to heaven, he didn't truly *deserve* to be there. He was brought there manually, as an effort on heaven's part to save face. (This is more speculation than canon-esp since I don't recall how Adam from the Bible ended up-but it makes sense and seems to be the direction this animatic wanted to go as well. I mean seriously, does Adam seem like the kind of guy who would get into heaven? And look at all the pain and destruction that resulted from letting just one undeserving soul in. Yikes. I also think this could be why Adam's design feels a little demonic, despite supposedly being an angel. Doesn't his hood mask thing look like horns?) And he knows it, but breaks down and cries in Sera's arms at the act of mercy regardless. He's given free reign in a place he doesn't belong for eons, and when Charlie finally shows up to try to stop him ("why'd it take so long?") he mocks her, and though he doesn't realize it, it's out of envy. After all, he's being hypocritical-hell is forever, the sinners got there of their own accord! But it would have been him, *should* have been him. Nobody can know that of course, so he instead overcompensates by flexing his superiority over them, and over infernal beings as a whole, even though in the end, he's still only human. And then Lucifer-there at the very beginning, and now here at the very end. And he's just as beautiful as he always was, and still infinitely more divine than Adam will ever be, literally and figuratively. After all, despite being the literal King of hell, he's a worlds better person than Adam is. And he fucking *hates* it. But he gets what's coming to him, and in the face of death... He smiles. I'm still not sure if this smile was meant to comfort Lute or not, but I do think it's at least something more than that. Maybe he's *relieved.* He finally got what he was coming to him, after years and years of being allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants in utter hypocrisy, and he didn't even have to admit he was wrong? That he was a failure? That he was a sinner? He dies, but he dies a martyr to heaven. Maybe he figured that was a pretty decent outcome, all things considered. Someone finally held him accountable and stopped him and he didn't have to do a damn thing except go out in blazing glory. So much of this is speculative, but I feel like it all fits with canon really well, and serves as a super interesting lense by which to examine his character. I LOOOOOVE this animatic thank u for bringing this into existence

I suggest you listen to the band the made this song, "Cojum Dip", their song 134340 Pluto also has some smart references and has a more Moon Waltz vibe.... Just keep in mind they are mainly an alternative rock/metal band in general so their other songs are crazier but i love them even more for that!o

Holy shit, I don't think I've ever seen another fan do an analysis of his character so well. And I have only heard so little people actually talk about his definite inferior complex in their own way, and I was shocked to have seen that not a lot of people actually see his blatant insecurities. We all see it in the last episode, when we finally see him in his most vulnerable state, where his mask is slowly crumbling apart (literally and figuratively), we see a... regular, ordinary-looking guy. Adam is the first human, but what would he even be without that title? We see him clinging onto that name so desperately in his last words, he yells at everybody around him, looking to drive attention on his 'honorable deeds'. As if he was trying to look more important. But that doesn't work because nobody in hell even cares if he's the "first man," and that he's just an insecure guy, and it makes Adam angry. Because it's true, if you think about it, he literally has nothing else on his name, nothing else that he's done that actually made a good influence to the people around him. So for that part of his identity to be dismissed and ignored as well, he feels like he's a nobody. Which is why I like the idea of Adam coming back as a sinner; he's finally facing what he deserves, that he gets to see what people truly think of him. To add to your comment, the scene of his death where he's smiling at Lute. One of the few reasons why I'm confused to why people would label Adam as a character that is written to not be sympathized with, because if there really was nothing else to his character other than being an absolute dickhead, why is it that we see him smiling fondly at the ONLY person who's actually stayed by his side? Because even after all the shit he's went through, after everything he's done, he had one person that was behind him no matter what, until the end. Well, it's personally how I see it, but either way, I still don't see how people can just look at his character and not think he's supposed to be a one-dimensional villain. Anyways, that's all. Some might say this is just a bunch of speculations and theories, but like what your comment said: "It all fits the canon really well."

I'm going to be honest, I didn't really look at Adam this way until watching this pmv, either. But that's one of the reasons I love it so much, it opened my eyes to a new and deeper perspective on his character! One of the episode titles that's been revealed for season 2 does seem like it could be about Adam showing up in hell so here's hoping...? 👀

1:04 i personally dont think Adam ate the apple, that would explain why he is still in heaven and is the only one who looks like a human, because he never died, he always stayed in the garden. Also, I would explain why he can not see the difference between good or evil. He was just always told demons are bad, angels are good. That's also why he didn't know what gets a soul to heaven AND why he acts the way that he acts. He is just confused.
