David c. I will admit that there are a lot of details on the characters that aren’t necessary. But a lot of these were old OC designs and, believe it or not, they were toned down.

If you missed them, here are some interesting tidbits about the pilot. 1. Charlie and Vaggie are a confirmed lesbian couple 2. Alistor's singing voice is done by famous Brony KZbinr, BlackGryph0n (credited here as Gabriel Brown) 3. Regarding Angel's "Progeria" comment, Progeria is a rare disorder that causes children's bodies to appear older. Those who have it don't live beyond their 13th, 14th or 15th year. However, ther is ONE known individual with Progeria who DID live past that range. When he passed on, he was 26. 4. Vaggie is Salvadoran, which explains the two Spanish phrases she mutters 5. According to his bio on the show's Wiki page, Alistor was a serial killer before arriving in Hell

My theory regarding death in hell: Generally the denizens can seriously injure each other, but not cause permanent damage or outright kill anyone. The only exception is during a Purge, where the Angels descend to kill of a bunch to make room in hell.

That tracks and it doesn't, strangely. Angel asked what would happen if Vaggie killed him: "Would that make me double-dead? Would I go to double-hell?" We also saw at the beginning some things that make me wonder. The blue demon that fell from the sky, face-planted, then got run over by Angel's client seemed to die, but then again, we didn't see him after, so it's hard to tell. Alastor was able to defeat other older, more established powers when he rose to power, but that sort of makes a few questions about what happened to them. It's hard to tell specifics there, as Alastor was, apparently, going after those who weren't mortal (aka: true-demons? devils? not sure about the nomenclature between sinners and creatures like Charlie's parents... or Charlie for that matter). Maybe there are ways to kill that are... more involved? *shrugs* It could be just as simple as Sir Pentious didn't die because he didn't die. Alastor wrecked him and his gear, but maybe he survived by chance? I'm kind of curious about this and a few other things, like Alastor's power, Charlie's status in hell, how characters came to hell, etc. I get the feeling a number of these questions will be answered in due course as the series progresses.

How one rises to a demon isn't clear just yet, but it sounds like a lot of questions will get answered in the next episode. How that's going to happen is a little up in the air at the moment, they are waiting to see if they can get a network or streaming service interested before they commit to doing another episode all on their lonesome again-this episode took about 4 years. Netflix is their best bet I would think, since their whole strategy is to get as much original content as possible.

Also in the intro scene maybe the only task satan gave charlie was to shoot that firework which at the end of the purge which could also mean she has to watch the angels on their massacre till they live to then fire the signal.

A bit of background info, that is considered canon: - Charlie is the daughter of Lucifer Magne and Lilith Magne. Unlike the other demons in the show she didnt land in hell for sins but was born there and just happened to grow into a compassionate person - the reason why she tries to end the yearly cleanse of demon souls imposed on them by angels with their heavenly weapons (the only means, by which a demon can be killed). As other commentors have already mentioned she is in a relationship with Vaggie and also bi-sexual. - Angel Dust was born into a New York crime family in life. He died in 1947 following an overdose of the drug PCP which is the reason for his name. - Alastor was a radio host and serial killer in Louisiana in life. He died in 1933. - Husker fought in the Vietnam war. - Sir Pentious was a Victorian era super-villain. He was and remains to be a genius when it comes to building and operating machines. Background info that isn't officially confirmed and subject to speculation: - Vaggie is Salvatorian and died in 2014 (canon). Her death is speculated to be the result of a hate crime against her because of her homosexuality. - Niffty is speculated to have died of an illness at a young age, resulting in her being very concerned about cleanliness. Her dying at a young age is also probably the reason she mistook Angel Dust for a woman, since she probably never learned about crossdressing etc. - Tom Trench is speculated to have been a soldier in WW I. His last name is an allusion to the trench wars where he probably met his end to a mustard gas attack.

I don't think any of them are actually going to heaven. Just a theory, but I see heaven as the true enemy here. If you think about it, there's people in hell who are not necessarily bad persons, like "boozers and prescription drug abusers" for example, so I'm guessing heaven decides who goes to hell, and the reason for the overpopulation could be the fact that angels see themselves as pure and superior, so any little mistake someone does is enough reason for going to hell. Really hope there are some weird plot twists in future episodes if there's ever more of this.

Alastor was a radio host serial killer and cannibal when he was alive so he is definitely terrifying. when he was alive he was extremely brilliant coming up with also plans in order to make his crime go unnoticed being extremely clever and charming so no one would be the wise. To most people he was too much of a charming person so no one believed he was a serial killer and anyone who manage to put together, Alastor was already several steps ahead and laid traps for them killing them to cover his tracks. Eventually however he got careless with his mental stability rapidly declining so he was less cunning and eventually slipped up and people found out he was a killer. Then we don't know what happened but it's speculated while he was running a hunter confused him for deer and shot him or was killed by hunting dogs. there's a bunch of mystery around him like why he became so powerful and some bits and pieces about his past that no one is sure of. all we know is that he was a serial killer and a cannibal who use the radio, from there everything else is pure (speculation). like the reason why he has antlers some people think is because he became a wendigo which is why he is so powerful since he was a cannibal and was raised by a cult and became a supernatural monster in his lifetime so when he died he was already much more powerful than any human soul but again that's only (speculation) we have no real idea just about everything about him other than a few key things are a complete mystery and even more amplified in the show because we have no idea what he's planning

I grew up in New Orleans myself and know for fact voodoo magic is powerful stuff if you believe the legends,they say a little witch doctor could do anything from read the future to bring the dead back to life. What we have that is canon so far to answer your question about the deaths is that: The only way to permanently die in hell is to be struck down by an angel's specialized weapon. When killed by that weapon the angels bring you're soul is scattered into the blackness and you cease to exist. Nothing comes after. The angels come down once a year (As seen on the clock tower) for an extermination where angels kill demons in mass for population control. If a Demon kills another demon they just come back. The Eggboi's that serve Sir Pent do not follow this because they are created in hell by Sir Pent. (That part isnt confirmed but is my theory).

Yeah the angel's that come down to purge the demons have weapons that can permanently kill them(they're blessed or something I guess) and I'm guessing if a demon kills another demon they do respawn after a while
