Not even 5 minutes in and my mind is already blown! The explanation of how to create your own pallet was more helpful in understanding color than dozens of videos about color theory that I watched. Also the mini-portrait trick is so cool I'll definitely use it for future paintings!

I've watched countless tutorials on this subject, but feel I've learned more in this one than all the others put together

As someone transitioning from acrylic and watercolor to digital, this explanation makes so much more sense. All the other tutorials have been so counter intuitive, this is the most familiar

Echoing previous comments - mind absolutely blown in regards to VALUE. I knew about value, I studied a lot of art in school. But we NEVER EVER discussed how to use it to make light and shadow appear cohesive in relation to the light source. Freaking amazing. Thank you!!!

I just watched the first 10 min of the video and I already learned sooo much. I normally paint traditionally with oils and got an ipad just a few weeks ago. I always wondered how to mix my colors in digital and never saw a tutorial like this. So this tutorial is perfect for me who is used to traditional paintings. 🤩 With this I will definetly be able to understand colors and hues more and been able to use that knowledge also into my traditional paintings 👌

Thank you so much! This helped explain a lot! Can you please eventually elaborate on the comment you said? “you can use different color but the same value.” What’s the best way to distinguish the same value for different colors when trying to create an abstract piece? This is where I get stuck.
@HazeLong3 жыл бұрын
When the 2 colors are side by side, they will vibrate visually. Or u can squint to help u check. when u smudge them, you won’t be able to tell which one is darker. That’s when u know it’s the same value.
