@@HazeOutdoors how do you find the 7d silnylon floor holds up? thinking of getting Gossamer Gear The DCF Two, only so as it would have room for hiking with room for a dog and pack gear and doubt there's enough room to squeeze them in? Also with the floor being so think where its a good idea or get a different tent or just get the dog some tent socks lol

People can get their knickers in a twist over the weirdest things. You can drink your beer and wine and still be a role model, because there is nothing wrong with drinking beer and wine.
@judylloyd79013 жыл бұрын
It's not the drinking of the beer or wine, it's the getting plonked on KZbin with young people watchin' yer that's not a good role model. Drinking in moderation is better, as a role model 👍😁 It's being responsible.

Hazey, I’ve been a devoted watcher for YEARS.. and as someone who doesn’t typically drink alcohol (mostly because I forget it exists) .. I find the beer reviews entertaining and the alcohol is NOT the focus of your content.. you can be (and ARE) an EXCELLENT ambassador for outdoor life and a delightful role model, even if you enjoy alcohol responsibly.. Please, keep doing EXACTLY what YOU do, we love you for it my friend! ATB! Much love from over the pond..

„Sometimes I don’t want myself to feel good“ - mate that is such a nugget of wisdom. It’s exactly like that. Once I start sliding into a depressive episode, I want to do anything but that which I know would make me feel better. You can get addicted to sadness and anxiety.

So relatable in what you say in this video regarding you know how to care for yourself but at times you don't listen to your own advice. Like a roller-coaster at times with the ups n downs.
@trevermcdonald24022 жыл бұрын
Always have a check list of your gear in order not to forget such important items as the means of starting a fire. Always stake down your lines expecting the weather to turn bad. Sixty years of outdoor camping has taught me to be more caution and respectful of weather conditions, just in case. I now drive as close to the chosen location as possible for two reasons, first I can’t manage hiking any more but more importantly I have my vehicle as refuge should things go wrong. Once camping on the coast of Aberdeenshire in winter I lost not just the tent but most of its contents. I was changing into dry cloths when a massive and sustained gust pulled the tent from its double pegging and second guy line to front and rear , I was left with just the ground sheet and what remained in my haversack. five miles from my van and in pitch darkness.

What a great adventure. I love your videos - and I'm a 60+ woman in New Zealand! I bought the same tent for a 6 day tramp/camp down the top of our South Island a couple of years ago. Had one night in the bush where it poured down with rain and blew a gale - had to clamber out in the middle of the night to re-peg the guys, so your video brought all that back. Great times - and I'm still loving my Gossamer One, and my Lowa boots. Heading out again in a couple of days, and can't wait. (Will be taking my vino with me too. Nothing beats it - out in the middle of nowhere, watching the sunset with glass in hand...) All the best to you mate - keep them coming.

the bit where you talk about being your own worst enemy and stopping yourself feeling good. mate, i totally know this. not only have i been there, but i'm often right there. its been one of the main things i was working on with a therapist before the pandemic mate that impossible. its almost like a self protection mechanism, isn't it? the 'logic' goes something like - if i keep myself depressed, then its an excuse not to do anything, then i'm keeping my head down, and i'm safe. love your candour and honesty putting it all out there, mate. i reckon you are helping loads of people way more than you could ever realise.
