Long distance paths will test any mans mettle. You will look back on this in the future with fondness. When you face uncertainty like this, as to whether you'll make it or not, it adds to the adventure. Loving this series Haze. The inner man is showing through.

You need to go back, when you have a fortnight to do it. Reduce the mileage, but go over the tops. Take a rest day, or two and treat yourself to a beer in every pub you pass! I wild-camped, pub beer-garden camped, had two nights in Reeth, on a campsite and one luxury night in a hotel, on the last night. It was the most enjoyable hiking experience of my life and I have done a fair bit, in my time. I am a new subscriber and am just trundling through your vids, at random. Loving it! Off to the woods on Monday, in a fair weather window, for an over-nighter. It might be the last opportunity this year, so like the Coast to Coast, it has to be done!

No point giving yourself serious, long term damage by overdoing it mate. No shame in being sensible enough to know when to stop. You can always do the 2nd 1/2 another time. I intended to packraft the whole of the west to east Great Glenn Way, but bottled it at loch ness (it's a fucking SEA and my packraft is tiny. I'd have been all over the news if I'd had tried it! :-D). Posted my packraft home and hiked the rest. Turned out to be a great choice, stopped at some nice places and met some nice folks :-)

Great video as I watched them all. My wife and I are doing the C2C in July/August 2018, but at more leisurely pace of 14 days hiking with extra nights in Grasmere and Richmond. Love the honestly of some of your challenges and the humor to to wash it down..alone with a few pints. (We'll be joining you on that ritual.) As a couple of American's that have never further north than the Tate in London, we look forward to the English countryside.Let's hope the Yorkshires serve up some better weather. I look forward to more videos. Haze on...

Oh my goodness. All at the same time it was the best, hardest and scariest thing I ever did. Really, not to over state it, but it changed me in regards to proving to myself I can do more than I thought. I'm excited to do our next one and we are eyeing the West Highland Way. My wife equally loved it as well. Met some great people, enjoyed my "full English breakfast", and drank some wonderful ales. The Wainwright and Naked Ladies were two of my favorite. Also had some great local IPA's at small northern pubs. I'll stop here, but could keep going as it was life changing for me.

Good going Hazey considering the injuries. I've had a very poor ankle, which has kept me away from multi day hikes but is getting better. One thing. Odds are you have flat feet, which puts pressure on the tendon running at the base of your calf and beneath your ankle. If you do (check) you need good arch support just for a start as far as healing goes - insoles! Otherwise brilliant - hats off. All the best. Mark

Hello Haze, I once camped with a friend next to a welsh mountain stream, We drank the water used it to live on for 3 days. On the 4th day we took a long walk up stream. Lol we found 3 different dead sheep lying in the stream. We were not ill.

There's a saying that as long as the stream is fast and you're more than 20ft downstream or summat you're good. I've done the same. Had a good old slurp and then passed a bloated sheep a few metres up. No worries.

Hi, I know this is an old video, but hopefully you might answer my questions. Where did you get your ordinance map from? Was it easy to follow? Was it up to date/did it cover everything correctly? Would you recommend something different? You probably said all of this at one stage or another, so just humour me, I'm old! Brightest Blessings to you and yours. Monica. ♥

Yo. Did the Coast to Coast last year. FWIW, I had the same experience as you. I was in bad shape coming through Shap. Knees were killing me. Took a wrong turn right out of Shap by that quarry. The good news is that was the low point. After Kirkby Stephen, I slowly got better. I hope the same for you. You've got it, man. You'll make it. Heading back to your island to start a 3-month LeJog walk on Sunday. Wish me luck.

Its always the simple things. As I live in a caravan, its 8 years since i last had a bath or used a toilet that doesnt need manually emptying out daily, and the thought of booking a night in a hotel just so i can have a bath and flush a toilet. I lost a wheel trim for my Skoda Octavia in 2006 on a trip from Glasgow to Blackpool. I know it’s a long shot but you didn’t happen to notice it when you went over that motorway bridge did you. It’s just that they can only be bought in packets of four and I only need one. If you seen it I could go down and collect it. Then again it might be on another part of the motorway. Thanks in advance.
