I love Sam’s videos . Good quality from limited resources but so spot on with what you really want to see and hear …with some added humour.

Day 1 for me was as a passenger from Essex to the Start as I am not a driver, arrived St Bees at 4.30am and started to walk. Dent was my first serious climb since I tackled the Pennine Way the previous year, then downward to Ennerdale, arrive at 4pm, had a drink at the Pub and carried on to Black Sail on the Southern side of Ennerdale Water. First nights B&B for more than 10 yrs £3.00 including evening meal and breakfast. Day 2 just a short one, but a very steep and muddy track from Black Sail over to Borrowdale and Stonetwaite and my first campsite. I never bothered to filter any of the water in the Lake District or in the York Moors area, so long as the stream is fast flowing its drinkable, just check upstream for dead animals. Finally for this segment my pack weighed in at 35kg, but I did carry all my food supplies via Army compo rations and and 6 litres of water. Day 2 was Stonetwaite to Angle Tarn.

It is always nice to see anothers viewpoint on C2C. I have done it twice and loved every mile of it. Backpacking both times so my rucksack was approx 25kg. Day 1 for me was St Bees to Black Sail stopping along the way to take photograps.

Hey, thanks for watching ! Yeah it's it's a fantastic route and experience, a nice solid mixture of different terrain and surroundings! I've always wanted to stay at black sail YHA but have never had the chance "yet" Carrying 25kg is a good solid effort! Amazing how much stronger it makes you over the journey isn't it 👍

@@Samrculley The second time I did it East to West and the Lake District was (or seemed to be) much tougher than my first West to East crossing. I would love to get back there next year, but more for photography reasons than just completing it again. So what is next on your List of Mega Hikes?
@Samrculley3 жыл бұрын
I've just completed JOGLE so I'm taking a little rest, but I'm definitely interested in doing some abroad, maybe something along the lines of the "King's trail" in Sweden or something a little different I guess! What about yourself ?

I know this was a long time ago! But, when you go for a dip mid walk, do you keep the shorts on that you had on for the swim? Also, do you swim in underwear too? Personal questions so sorry but just planning for walks with potential wild swims in the future. Thanks in advance!
