Toddlers do need lots and lots of love and attention from parents before they go to sleep, especially when they sleep in a separate room and you are well and truly spending a quality time to build up the connection with your little one! So sweet!

Yes! She often cries longer and wouldnt want me to leave the room if i'm rushed. She definitely becomes a little more clingy a day after i worked long hours as well. I think the key is making sure they get enough one on one time so they feel loved and cared before sleep 🥰

Once again, your videos are sooo good! We have a similar bedtime routine with my 19mo, and I used to just leave him in the room to fall asleep independently, but since I started working full time I just can’t resist, but cuddle with him while he is falling asleep (most of the time I fall asleep myself 😅). So now it’s a real struggle to leave him in the room by himself.

Omg seriously, thanks for taking your time and writing such a lovely comment. It really made my day 😊 I feel ya, it's hard to walk away from that cute little face especially when you work full time and cant spend enough time during the day. I often sneak into her room when i come home late from work and just look at her sleeping for a while. I sometime wish that i could just cuddle with her and sleep next to her but now we both cant sleep very well at all if we sleep in the same bed. Kinda sad in way....

I don’t know much about this parenting method, but I love the idea of letting the child have the room when they aren’t sleepy, instead of just the bed. Watching this little one get up and pick out another book to read by herself was so wonderful!

I love the independence. Needy kids grow up with horrible tantrums. Not all. But most. It surprises me how many adults act like two year olds. My eldest is 17 and I couldn’t be more pleased. Just so mature and calm. We are like best friends

Eczema tip: there was a study comparing various lotions and their long term effects with eczema. While cerave did score well, Vaseline scored higher with reducing eczema over their lifetime. Obviously, so what works for your family, but as a fellow hereditary sufferer I wanted to pass on this info ❤

Hi, I just came across your video. 1. How did you teach Alina to eat without throwing stuff on the floor? 2. Do you find it difficult to go to the kitchen? Mine would scream and cry because we have gates to prevent her from going to the kitchen. 😅 3. How long did it take for you to teach Alina to brush her teeth and floss? Mine just cries if we try to hold her down after she throws her toothbrush onto the floor 😅 Thank you for your advice
@hazieandmotherhood
@hazieandmotherhood 10 ай бұрын
Hi 1. From around one and a half years old, I had her clean up her own messes, which might sound a bit harsh, but it's made her more mindful while eating. She's now nearly 4, she's such a clean eater. 2. I got a learning tower and started inviting her to cook with me. It slowed down the cooking process, but she loves helping, and there's definitely no more screaming or crying. 3. Initially, it took some time to establish the habit of doing it independently. When she refused, I would say, "Mommy will do it for you if you don't want to do it," and then proceeded to do it anyway because it's something that's just not negotiable. hope this helps!!! 😊

I also try to find products that are similar to this on Amazon and every bath tub I see is so bulky and big. Sorry!. This bath tub is called Hug baby Bungbung and I hope you can find something similar to this! ;)

Hi Hazie, what would your recommendation be for baby and toddler room sharing. Would you still keep the floor bed for 2nd child? Or would you put the baby in the crib with your first kid. Or is Montessori one kid/room?

Hi! Love your videos~ How did you get her to stay in the bed when you transitioned to floor bed? I transitioned my son out of the crib a few months ago (he's 18 mo) and it's been so hard because he just cries really hard and walks out of the room, if we put the gate I think he would just cry for a long time until we came. We have to stay with him until he falls asleep and he wakes up in the middle of night crying if we're not there. Any advice?
@hazieandmotherhood
@hazieandmotherhood 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! It's so hard watching your child cry isn't it, it sounds just like what we went through.. after night time routine (same routine everyday), I just walked out of her room whether she cried or not, and I waited 1-2 mintues before I went back to her room. And then after she settled a bit, i left the room again and waited just a little longer and then went back to her room. And repeated this process until she fell asleep. What I made sure in the transition was that the moment she falls asleep, she was alone. So she knows i am not there when she sleeps, so when she wakes up in the middle of night she isn't automatically looking for me. And i was consistent every single day until she finally fell asleep all by herself. My advice is consistency is the key and kids will EVENTUALLY LEARN. They really do. Dont feel too bad about leaving your child cry alone for a bit. (I know it's the hardest thing ever) once your child knows that you are just behind the door and you will be there when he really needs you, he will fall asleep independently. Wish you good luck mama!! 👍

You can't really climb up the bed frame (it just seems impossible but active boys might be able to), but my daughter steps on the siderails, which can be quite dangerous. We're going to switch her bed to a toddler bed and our baby#2 is going to take over this bed due to that reason..

Hi Hazie! I am wondering how alina sleeps now as she is older! My daughter also did great with her sleep routine and independently sleeping afterwards but now she is almost three and she cries more longer and demands various things and I am having a hard time with her staying in her room! What does your sleep time look like now?
@hazieandmotherhood

Im thinking of doing another nighttime routine video with a 3 yead old! Alina demands various things too 😂 like a water bottle, lotion, and medications and whatnot.. i try to respond to her requests as calm and positive as possible and give what she wants (only things that are reasonable, though). And spend 10- 15 minutes lying in her bed with her reading, talking, lots of hugging and kissing, and then I leave her room while she is awake. Then she just gives me a good night kiss and accepts that it's time to sleep ☺️

Our son did the same thing at 3. He started crying and did not want to sleep alone. We would play music for him (Adele) to put him to sleep and would stay in the room too until he fell asleep. Sneaking out was tough and he would wake up at the slightest sound. We had a few nights of crying, but he eventually got back on the routine. He’s 4 years old and is pretty good about his nighttime routine. Yesterday, he finished dinner around 7pm, took himself into the bathroom, undressed and got ready for bath on his own. Read a few books and fell asleep before 8.
