To me 14k and NCCU put on the best field shows, As far as stands the Piperettes, UAPB, and Golden Stars. As far as the dance companies and Eclipse and Ooh lla la. Some are going to think I'm crazy for saying this but the SWAC better wake up. The ability and entertainment value between them and the MEAC and these dance companies are shrinking fast. Like the SWAC some have media departments and receiving attention from Smash Time and Killa-Kev. Thanks Morgan for highlighting them.

I didnt see all the squads this week but my number 1 definitely The Settes! They are here baby!!! They looked so good. The foxes dolls and orchesis were great too, id put The Golden Delights up there in my top 7

And that’s how you do it. In my opinion, the Dolls and the J-Settes do it best when it comes to handling evolution while still maintaining their tradition and keeping their styles recognizable, even after 50+ years respectively.

@@geekjanet I think y’all SCHLEEPT 😴 on the ASU Stingettes whom started out as the underdog behind JSU and SU but blossomed into one of the SWAC’s most prized possessions. Sting’s style will slay them both on any given day. ASU’s style is hands down the most versatile and their counts are the most timeless. Stingettes taught y’all girls sex appeal and hairography, or formation changes during a song - things everyone does now. Sting has the most finesse. Both the Dolls and Settes have had major style shifts within the last 10-15 years where they became much softer & sexier, I think that’s due to battling the ASU Stingettes over the years. Stingettes were always beautiful but had major milestones where the aesthetic and overall bar were raised tremendously. Vickie Betts (09), Ashley (12), Asia Martin (14), and they’ve been *evolving* upon that ever since.

​@@G-Rated Big pause. Firstly, I just want to say I have no issue with the Stingettes and appreciate what the organization has done for HBCU dance. However, we're not going to sit here and act like the Stingettes haven't drawn inspiration from the Dolls and J-Settes, several times. You can't make claims like "Sting's style will slay them both on any given day" when the foundation of their style is built off of the two organizations that were aforementioned. That's just contradictory. Even today, they continue to throw remixed Doll and J-Sette counts, no shade. Regarding the sex appeal aspect, what you mentioned might be true. However, Charlotte ('11 and '12) had to adjust to what she was given because the Boom played mad slow songs during her time as J-Sette captain. She even revealed that was the reason why she introduced many slow counts to the Settes' books compared to what they had previously. As for the Dolls, take KP for example. She already embodied finesse and embraced her femininity during her time on the squad prior to even becoming captain because that's who she is as a person. When she became captain, that “milkiness” was amplified times ten because everyone had to look like her. While all these squads are evolving, in my opinion, the styles of the Dolls and J-Settes remain the most recognizable.

@@geekjanet You sound like one of those jsu fans that think the j-settes photo is next to dance in the dictionary. No sir and no ma’am. I can definitely say Sting has watched Dolls and Settes over the years and had influence in that way but the Stingettes’ actual style isn’t built off of neither of these two teams. You’re trying to connect a line that does not connect. You had a better chance of trying to connect GGs to the Settes style and AAMU to the Dancing Dolls style, but Sting has ALWAYS had their own way of doing everything. You were probably one of the ones claiming there’s only two styles of HBCU dance in the SWAC Doll or J-sette but the Stingettes are the constant reminder that THAT is not the case. How can you call my statements contradicting then say Sting remixed J-sette and Doll counts? As if I can’t talk about all the remixed Stingette counts/moves that the J-settes and Dancing Dolls do. Matter of fact, the entire Dancing Doll style has been Stingette-esque since Danielle Stamper was captain. Buddy, you really could’ve kept all of that.

First off, I adore the Stingettes, they are literally my number 2, I know deep well enough of their style and what they give and I love it all! I just deeply love the Jsettes, that’s all. Well I've searched the comments and can't find anything about Tanisha's statements on Princess's live so I will address it. First of all Morgan, keep doing what YOU doing. It IS a competition! The game itself is a competition. My family is PV alums and although we never beat Grambling in Football we always waxed that ass with the band and Black Foxes👯‍♂👯‍♂Its called Battle of the BANDS for a reason. The competition and Ranking and deciding who is the best is what got her daughter her position and the reason we been watching her for the last 7 years. C'mon T, take it easy. I'm glad Princess checked her mama (or just stopped the lived cuz ain't no mama checkin goin on around here) Tanisha needs to go live on her own platform so she can express her reasonings for how she feels and keep that off Princess live because we are ultimately here for Princess. We ain't watching messy a$$ Bring It where standing up and going hard on your daughters competitors, team mates, and parents was kinda funny, but not really. This is real life, nobody's here for the extra drama, or bitter tea. We keep up with Princess, but more than even that we keep up with the Stingettes. There will be another captain next year, so please let us enjoy Princess's ERA in peace and let her earn #legendary status without mama drama. It would be a sick and sad shame if the influencers decided to blackout or boycott the Stings 24-25 and Princess's reign to avoid your drama this season. She's already fought enough battles to get to her position now you out here trying to be relevant and creating fake beef with an influencer. There's a whole stadium out there for you to have several seats T. Or just record your daughter and what she is doing so we will have a reason to keep following you. As a former clarinet player and marching band member, the ranking is very necessary. First chair, drum major, captain, all that is rank baby and we must know who is the best, who set the trends, and yes who slayed our HBCU fields this week. Thank you for your enthusiasm and love for this style of dance and the spotlight on Historically BLACK Colleges and Universities.

I love All American as well. Another uniform I want to see them bring back is the white one the alumni Crowley girls wore during the 50th, I forgot the name but it was so pretty. They need more white* uni's period which is why I can appreciate Ace of Spades, it really makes their movements pop like when they wear fringe.
