Hue Jackson did bring notoriety back to Grambling St. and their unis are on point, but he was hired to win games not a fashion contest. He might have been a good offensive coordinator, but he didn't deliver as a Head Coach, PERIOD.

Hue Jackson is always getting fired, so they should have gave him more time. Grambling State had a chance to win a lot of games, but they didn’t.

The SWAC will always SWAC While Grambling anticipated the Deion Sanders effect when hiring Hue Jackson, the team has improved and played well, even in loses. Unfortunately, the leadership in the SWAC lacks patience and vision. Grambling is a Quarterback away from greatness. But, consistent with SWAC disfunction, yet another coach has been fired way too soon.

He deserved it, anyone who is saying otherwise did not watch Grambling play week by week, & that’s ok but don’t make judgements on if they should have kept him or not… Hue Jackson had the talent on his offense THIS season, the flaw on the Grambling team this season was the coaching, the play calling was just bad, and it costed us big games, Grambling lost their first homecoming in 17 years to Alabama A&M, I repeat 17 YEARS! Hue Jackson should have known if he didn’t win Bayou Classic he was out as head coach, we lost Classic last year because of him due to him switching up play calling in the last quarter of the game, we were beating Southern the entire game with the running scheme, so what does Hue Jackson do 4th quarter? Started making his freshman QB Julian Calvez throw the ball, ball then starts to get picked, what does Hue Jackson do? Try to make Calvez run the ball himself, Knowing Calvez at the time was very “SAC FRIENDLY”, Southern’s defense came back & won them the game because of the plays Hue Jackson called on his offense & it’s sickening!! Fast forward to this year Bayou Classic, Grambling down by 21-7 first half, and I commend the guys for the way they came back but your score is SU 27- Gram- 22 with less than 5 minutes in the game and you use your running backs to drive the ball down the field & have 3 downs inside the 5 & on the 4th down u call your injured wide receiver Lyndon Rash in the game after you had him benched the entire 4th quarter, u call him in right before the 4th down play? Even Stevie Wonder could see the 4th down scheme they were going to go with! Jackson costed Grambling the game & plenty of other games that should have been won, we appreciate his services but he just wasn’t equipped for this job, had he won Bayou Classic, Grambling would have gladly gave him another year to see what he could do, but losing Homecoming, not challenging anything at Alcorn because that should’ve been Grambling’s game as well, and the way he lost this Classic? He had to go! The way this game was lost was unforgivable And all of the “2 years isn’t enough” comments are tiring, To outsiders 2 years probably wasn’t enough but to GRAMBLING, a program and school that has won football titles like Thanos collected infinity stones, 1 season was long enough. Anybody who wants to coach football at fucking Grambling knows what the expectations are. But one thing I know about Grambling, you gotta laugh now because they do not lose for too long. That’s a historic, proud program. Grambling State has one of the most storied histories in HBCU football and they’ll be dominant again before we know it. Also, just a fun fact for the “2 year isn’t enough comments” Since Eddie Robinson's retirement at Grambling State, the coaches after him all finished with these records in there SECOND SEASON Doug Williams -- 7-4 Melvin Spears -- 11-1 Rod Broadway -- 11-2 Broderick Fobbs 9-3 Hue Jackson -- 5-6

@@CoachChef you have the wrong team sir, Grambling is not living in the past, we got championships under EACH coach we have had since Eddie Robinson except Hue Jackson, are u forgetting Grambling is the only SWAC school to win a Celebratin Bowl? It was the one in 2017, we don’t live in the past, Eddie Robinson started a legacy and coaches after him have followed, Fobbs couldn’t get us another championship after 2018 so we gave him until 2021 & he had to go, we have RINGS in THIS age, we let Fobbs go after 3 straight bad seasons, he won us plenty of championships, but we gave him 3 years to get us back in & he couldn’t so we went with Hue, another huge mistake, but we will get it right! It’s what we do, there was slight improvement but not good enough for the Grambling standard, & the games that were lost shouldn’t have been lost, the plays that were called never should have been called when Jackson says he is an offensive guru with years of NFL & coaching experience, it’s unacceptable, not only him losing but the way the games were lost.. all of Grambling’s past coaches had winning seasons their 2nd season so the needing more than 2 year coaching thing is an excuse, Hue had the talent THIS year he didn’t need another year to mold anything, with the talent he had this year & the way the SWAC WEST wasn’t even competitive, this season should have been a cake walk for Gram

BUT, ya didn't add to fact of the previous record the year before, how many of Coach HUE'S Players didn't transfer, how many Players GRADUATED(since you forgot this is a University) and more importantly, the "Big 💰" annual donations with those multi-million $ faculties ya have(since you idiots live in dreamworlds of grandeur). You lose for 17yrs because y'all ain't NEVER gave 💩 to the program, even when Coach EDDIE Myself was sidelining. Not a dime.

Simple solution: Hue Jackson should go back to Tennessee State & bring Art Briles with him & help Coach Eddie George win the Ohio Valley Conference 😀 He'll Recruit well on the West Coast & Art Briles will work his Coaching Magic on staff. Grambling State should Instantly go after Ed Reed & Ray Lewis & get ready for a Celebration Bowl run in 2024 because no FCS Team will be able to beat what they got coming! #HBCU #TSU #GSU

@@christopherdukes2425 To be honest it is not a bad idea and Grambling has the facilities that Ed Reed can work with. The only thing that would be of concern is him handling pressure of Grambling's atmosphere.

@rdg091 The second Ed Reed & Ray Lewis touch foot on Grambling State soil it's over for every opponent they face in 2024 😀 They have investors ready to build New Facilities with Resources that won't be matched in #HBCU Football & a Top 60 & Higher Recruiting Class in the Nation. For them it's going to be like taking Candy from a Baby because I know where this is going: They're going to Capitalize on Everything Jackson State failed to do cause better believe they're going to build a Celebrity Booster Club ( That's Happening ) & I fully expect them to make a Successful Transiton to the FBS by 2025 because they'll have everything in place to be able to maintain themselves & even make a profit 😀 The second this hire happens make a GSU channel because you're going to eat well from it trust me on this 1! Everyone who covers this is gonna eat Big Time & I'm even more happy for the Cities Economic Growth which consists of mostly Black People so they're gonna make a ton from this hire! I can't wait to see them win the Celebration Bowl Trophy in 2024 🐅 #GSU

The same thing now happening at SU and GSU is the same thing that has happened at PV in the mid-1960's at the onset of the civil rights movement. And because of it Billy Nicks retired because he saw the handwriting on the wall - an omen of what was to come. In talent rich Texas, the Black athlete talent was beginning to look more and more to and wooed by the Power 5 PWI's to display their talents and skills e.g. TCU, UT, UH, Rice, Arkansas, Baylor, TXAM, etc. However, this same situation has been lagging for GSU and SU both Louisiana HBCU's. And because of this "equal opportunity", it’s not as easy for SU and GSU to nab great players as it once was. That’s because the recruiting landscape and the Academic Progress Rate (APR) has changed that landscape. Not so long ago, SU, GSU and JSU for that matter, could all but ransack Houston for the best SWAC-caliber players, mostly because they had no competition to speak of. After all, Texas Southern University was a joke, and Prairie View was not even trying. But no one’s laughing now. Since 2009, both programs have won conference titles. If that weren’t enough, the APR standards have crystallized the need to sign players with an academic aptitude. Before, the SU, GSU and JSU programs could gamble on talented athletes with borderline grades. If they didn’t make it academically, there was no looming penalty. Now there is. Finally, those programs are not just competing with their respective established in-state programs anymore. Instead, they’re all lumped in with young re-birthed programs like those at South Alabama, Georgia State, Lamar Universiy and Texas-San Antonio. More hands than ever are wrestling inside the same crowded cookie jar. All those factors have forced SU, GSU and JSU to venture a little farther out - for example in places like Georgia -to unearth talent that somehow gets overlooked. HBCU future recruiting for rich talent can be done but it can’t be done as easily as it has been - it's going to take some extraordinary work to get the job done. Read the book: Confidence: How Winning and Losing Streaks Begin and End by Rosabeth Moss Kanter which can further explain the foregoing verbiage. The author dedicated practically an entire chapter on the how and why of the PV losing streak.

One problem you failed to mention, SU GSU JSU & every HCBU has NEVER competed with the likes you mentioned except in the 60s(segregation). The 70s were the last of the great HBCU Teams. And noticed you mentioned PV on top now, which is True. Why & how? They just built a beautiful new 🏟. That's what happens when you donated to your Universities, success. And there Players are GRADUATING ! My Folks live in dreams of grandeur like there in The NFL.

HBUC, colleges have high expectations with poor facilities and low budgets. I have a daughter who attends GSU, and their sport facilities are embarrassing. I live in Southern California, and our high school and Junior Colleges have better facilities.
