Just watched the movie for the first time last night and this scene is burned into my memory. The change in Patrick’s face when he sees Richie. The way his eyebrows crease and it looks like he’s about to cry, yet he’s also so surprised and happy to see Richie back. There are so many emotions running through Patrick in that moment and they’re all expressed in this wordless exchange. Amazing acting with an amazing song to accompany it. Truly moving scene and I can’t stop rewatching it.

Jonathan and Raul portrayed that scene so perfectly. Patrick really thought that the argument he had with Brady, was the final thing that would stop Richie from letting him have a friendship with him. While Richie finally stopped letting his relationship with Brady, keep him from being with Patrick.

Binged in two days and WOW! So effing RELIEVED that Patrick ended up with Richie!!! Go back and binge rewatch the series, it was always THERE! And the performance of Raul as Richie was so nuanced and layered and rooted in actual devotional “all in” LOVE! Compared to fluctuating, oscillating, deflating Kevin’s way of loving Patrick! I was literally rolling my eyes at Kevin & Patrick scenes all second season long, holding out for teamRITCHIE and WE GOT IT! Thank God!!! This series ROCKED!!! Wish there was more of these characters and their fascinating Queer SF lives! I absolutely fell in love with all of them, including supporting cast! Doris & Eddie too! 💋✌🏼🌈 Patrick’s journey/story arc of finally being ready to receive TRUE LOVE back, feel worthy enough, let go of his internalized homophobia/etc. and not be afraid to fall in love, head over heels...Like he did with RICHIE, was SO rewarding And kathartic and healing to behold! It’s a sex-positive, body-positive, queer friendly Universal Message that I think can reach a lot of people’s hearts! The performances are so genuine and HEARTFELT! Highly recommend! 🙏🏼🥳🕊

Watching this scene in the movie theater in NYC back in July 2016, there was absolutely silence, until everyone noticed the white stripes of Richie's breaker....it was like "He came back" and then the kiss. It was pretty amazing to be there that night.

The Truth... Finally, Surrendering to both! & Brady and all their friends having witnessed this whole shit show going on back and forth for a year...were RIGHT THERE!!! Coming clean with yourself, how you feel & with the one you absolutely undeniably LOVE, with every fiber of your being! Man, those performances were just INSANE! THEY WERE INEVITABLE from the get go! looking series is always everything and complete that really binds the life , it happened finally Patrick lapse to Richie but it seems to shows how he felt lonely around being accompanied by more than people and realizes his faults and mistakes he committed in his life, it not all about the taking a incident in life in not impotent rather to find try and move on....the entire team and and HBO has done a great work.

This ending is perfect. You see the problem with Kevin was that he wanted an open relationship. As soon as that was revealed I knew that they would not last. It was always supposed to be Patrick and Ritchie.

Whatever positive things, personal or professional, that Kevin and Patrick were meant to give and receive between them were over and done with. Perhaps the best thing that Kevin gave Patrick was the confidence to move ahead in his field, as we learn (peripherally) in the movie. Richie and Patrick still have so much to share!

Given that HBO declined to pick Looking up for a third season (boo, hiss!), I think Andrew Haigh and Michal Lannan did an excellent job with the movie. They stayed true to the characters as we had gotten to know them in the two seasons, convincingly showing Patrick's move toward maturity and responsibility, and finishing off the story of the three friends without feeling the need to tie everything up in a neat bow. There are so many lovely scenes, like the one for Dom and Patrick getting high and speculating on whether THEY should become a couple, and the Richie-Patrick reconnection at the end, which had simmered under the surface throughout Season 2, reaches its very moving resolution. The last moment, when Richie settles his head in to Patrick's shoulder, is typical of how this wonderful series does heartwarming things with the tiniest of gestures.
