@Jennifer83881 Thank you, but that all happened 5 years before I was born. Just last year, my aunt stumbled across a letter of hers that the great aunt had sent from Guyana saying how well they were doing. It's all so interesting to me. I can't fathom how people get duped into these things.

@Tabitha I’m from Los Angeles and in high school 1974-78. I had a friend whose parents were in a cult. She didn’t live with them. She lived in a house with a whole bunch of people who weren’t family. They remodeled the attic to a prayer room where sermons were held. It was weird and creepy. I wish I had kept track of her.

I have already finished the 1st & last ones. I listen while I go about my day. Happy Thanksgiving for those in the States.

I love watching cult documentaries. They're very educational in deconstructing what kind of people fall into these situations and HOW. It also makes it easy to compare and contrast to current extremist political movements and how the followers of said movements end up mixed into the same bag of tricks.

Have you seen it and what do you think of it? I know that some homeless people go to work everyday and sleep in campers or their cars. If you've already done a video on this please direct me to it. Thanks.

Despite watching other cults and now witnessing the current one, I am always confused as to how the mind resist logic intelligence and common sense for someone who does nothing for them. Literally dissed them and they cling to that feeling of whatever for living and thriving.

I respectfully disagree with your take on this documentary. While the documentary focuses on Guru Jagat, she did not start this cult. It was started by an Indian man who came here and fleeced American's. He did a vast amount of damage and horrible things. He made it in to a massive money maker before his death. It was then taken over by a white man who used a white woman to grow it more. But it was already massive before she came on board.

As you said Tabitha, misappropriation of brown culture. However, I want to point out Kundalini yoga is a wonderful ancient practice you can do at a local yoga studio or by yourself online. There are books as well. No cult needed 😊. It can be a great source of self care during the times we are in ❤.
