Great looking setup and that pint you poured looked top notch. Love your philosophy of keeping things simple. I think sometimes brewers get carried away with having all the latest gadgets and top of the range gear, when at the end of the day you can make great beer on most systems. Cheers mate 🍻

Cheers Rick mate although I love most ( if not all😂😂) beer styles on the other taps a hand pull is a great addition to the bar and I really do love it

Thanks for the mention Tony. Here in Hinderwell I have brewed quite a few successful beers quite similar to yours. I have my beer engine set up exactly like yours too(with the check valve). Pulling a pint on it created a lot of foam and wastage. And after a few frustrating attempts I abandoned it and connected it back onto my tap. It looks like my gas pressure has been too high. I will follow your guide and drop it to 3-5psi. Do you purge the Corny Keg to release any gas too? I have a new brew which should be ready next weekend so will give it another try and let you know. I admire your bar set up - really smart. And the videos you have presented are very helpful. Thanks again.

Cheers Paul hope you can get your problems sorted. As for purging the keg so far I have only needed to do this once at the start of a full keg to get out oxygen. But see no reason why you can’t do it at any stage to release some pressure.Try starting with your pressure really low and check no air is being sucked in at any of the pipe connections as well.I had a split in the pipe coming off the beer engine and air was getting drawn into the system,causing a lot of foam and head.took me a few pints before I could work out why.once again cheers and thanks for watching 🍺🍺

Nice one Tony always fancied a Hand pull but not sure the location I’d put it, we have a quay who has a brewery and does recon hand pulls with a box of beer. If you have a pint and don’t drink for a week or so, do you clean the lines or dump what’s in the pipe and carry on.

I just pull a little through the line and carry on only Clean lines in between batches of beer

Great video Tony, similar setup myself. If 5psi is your serving pressure on a hand pull, I presume you condition at a higher rate and purge before connecting the beer engine? Cheers pal
@YorkshireHomebrew001 Жыл бұрын
No mate I just connect gas at 5 psi purge leave for a few days a week tops if I can keep away from it .Then connect beer out line and away I go.conditioning at a higher psi could possibly start to carbonate the beer which is what I personally don’t won’t cheers and thanks for watching 🍺🍺

Do you secondary ferment in the keg or do you force carbonate?
@YorkshireHomebrew00111 ай бұрын
No I don’t Force carbonate in any way at all or secondary ferment really as most of the sugers have gone. Just pop it in my keg 3 to 5psi purge leave for about a week and away I go . The hand pull and sparkler nozzle give my beer head and creaminess cheers.

How long will a keg last and how big is the keg?
@YorkshireHomebrew001 Жыл бұрын
Hi sj the keg is 19 ltr and as it’s set up similar to a normal corny for tap ie no oxygen as it’s been purged, would easily do a couple of months or more . But this style of beer is better drunk pretty fresh . The big problem is not to overindulge as hard to stay away from it 😂😜cheers mate thanks for stopping by 🍺🍺
