I've had a couple of these for over a year now and they are fun. Stock they come out with a 550 brushed motor and it is basically the same truck as the Bezgar 1 with the exception of motor placement, size and body. They do come with oil filled shocks and full ball bearings throughout the full metal running gear. The biggest problems I have had is the "umbrella gear" the little pinion that contacts both the front and rear diffs keep stripping but that may be because I have been running brushless systems and I took front and rear diffs and I might have epoxied them solid but man will they dance. Have fun guys and remember you DO NOT HAVE TO SPEND $1200 to have massive amounts of fun!!! Edit: The Crazepony 4700kv systems I'm running handle 3s all day and 40mph wheelies and standing backflips are not a problem. I wonder if thats stressful to those little "umbrella gears?" Who cares they are like 3 bucks for a new one. Rip on fellas!!!

I've only got one with a center diff, but I think they should be standard equipment on all of 'em. Power delivery is just so much smoother and more stable.

Completely agree with rude words about people who want to see you destroy the car. I dont understand people who want to see cars being destroyed in concrete skate parks. Like why. Its much more fun on dirt bmx pump tracks and similar. 1 year later how happy are you with this rc car? thanks!

I am new to the RC hobby, but love engineering, evaluating designs, and testing stuff out. Te 2995 chassis and drive line seem like a good balance and platform for an upgraded power train due to the center differential being able to dissipate excess torque. I have this car and tried to do a motor and ESC upgrade, but I smoked the cheap 120A rated AliExpress ESC. No fire, but lots of smoke from solder over temp at every external ESC "weld". I "upgraded" to a 4300kv motor (and 120A ESC) using a 1000mah 100c battery with a 16t pinion on the stock tires. During the ESC smoke show, the motor and battery were cool enough you could hold your finger on both. However, the ESC was lava. I think I farked the motor kv selection/combo with the 3s 100c and an ESC that didn't have over current control logic built in (the cheap esc appears to have a mechanical fail safe smoke show - at least that's how it worked for me). The failure condition or input appeared to be after running a couple high speed runs then trying to reverse and the forward wheelie it going up a hill. At that point the buggy clogged hard for 2 or 3 seconds and I didn't let off the throttle, then it let the smoke out of the wires. I think the ESC was already somewhat warm, the motor didn't have quite enough torque to over come the cogging, and the system held power until it fried the circuits. Just a theory though, looking for expert feedback, like I said I am new to this hobby. It was fun while it lasted, the car ran fast as hell and accelerated better than my Big Rock and WLToys 144001 on 3s. What am I doing wrong?

I would say definitely when it comes to esc's you get what you pay for. I would try for a lower kv, around 3500kv-3900kv. And get a cheap arrma 3s esc or castle. They're proven to be reliable. I actually bought a arrma blx100 to put in this. My kv is 3500kv so the esc is not overworked. Also try and fit the biggest battery you can fit. I was able to fit a 1500mah in.

@@heavymetalrc7520 Thanks for the reply and advice. Full disclosure, I am consumed by this hobby right now. I can't exactly say why other than it's terrible fun. My kids dig it too. Money well spent, though I have a sneaking suspicion it might end up being a fair bit of money in order to scratch this itch.

Nice Video! I have the 2996a since a few days and my front tires are pretty worn. Putting thicker fluid in the center diff can regulate that more torque coes to the rear axle? Its my first cool rc car. I need tips.

With all the money you dumped into that cheap Chinese junk truck you could of bought a Arma 3s line truck.
@heavymetalrc7520
@heavymetalrc7520 2 жыл бұрын
No way, 80 for the truck and 40 for tires. The electronics were borrowed from another car. For me it wasn't but for someone buying the castle system new...it still would be cheaper but close to an arrma 3s.

@Schmidt3850
@Schmidt3850 2 жыл бұрын
I guess you have come to realize that they are junk then. If you bought all the upgrade parts for that truck that you have on it you would have exceeded the price of a 3s Arma truck by a longshot. Been in this hobby forever. You forgot to tack on with the money you spent on the truck the shocks the 0.6 mod pinion gear the wheelie bar and the transmitter and receiver as well.
@heavymetalrc7520

@@Schmidt3850 lol yeah that's true. I had all this stuff laying around. For someone building from scratch they're definitely better off buying a 3s arrma. All fun though. I have this theme called the summer of doodoo lol. Buying cheap cars and putting fancy electronics. All for fun, definitely not recommended but it's hilarious to see a 100 rc with expensive electronics.

Yeah l get bored too and try out new things as well had a couple hbx trucks to tinker around with in front of my house when I get home from work did the brushless mod to that truck you have it was ok but the steering got sloppy with the bigger tires immediately what a shitty steering system the truck had the bellcrank is a joke. I kept the hbx 16889 pro truck I have to beat on in front of my house tiny truck but quick and sure can take a beating.
