Weird...Quick Kick was one of my favorite characters and figures as a kid. He was like the Bruce Lee of GI Joe.

As for the backpack I think by technicality the backpack is supposed to have straps but hasbro couldn't mold those still it dose look weird on him. good figure though.

Was I the only one that would disassemble my Joes and swap heads....arms...etc? I used to put Quick Kicks head on Storm Shadows body for an unmasked version. Did the same thing with Chuckles head on Snake Eyes body

Because of their great articulation I used G.I. Joes S wrestling figures. Quick Kick was my heavyweight champion. Airtight and Wild Weasel were my masked heel tag team champions that feuded with the Crimson twins.

I always put my Quick Kick's backpack at an angle making it intersect with the sash it also made it easier for figure to draw his sword from it's sheath at that angle.

I loved quick kick.. but you right no shoes was problem for me too.. i switched his lower leg for Destro lower legs..it didn't look either..lol..finally i had decided to sacrificed musk rat who i wasnt to crazy about..I took him apart and replaced his head and arms with Quick kicks head arms .. and then i had a real kick ass Quick kick with shoes....lol..

I think the introduction of Quick Kick was a bit of a money grab. He was released at the height of karate’s popularity in the US, and The Karate Kid movie had just come out and was hugely popular.

When I was a kid I couldn't get by the barefoot thing either. I remember never wanting that toy because all Cobra had to do to stop him was throw some thumb tacks on the floor. There was a really good episode of the cartoon that focused on him. Now a days I'd just customize him and switch his legs with another fodder figure because he was a cool Joe.

Quick Kick was my favourite figure as a child (just pipped Snake Eyes, and I never had Storm Shadow). He was one of the only ones that broke :( (him and Serpentor - the common crotch snap).

+TheNightBadger The crotch break is really frustrating. Thumb breakage may be more common, and of course it means the figure can't hold his accessories. But the crotch break makes the legs pop out of joint, and it just looks wrong!

No bare foot bones about it, let us not forget that "Kung-Fu Theater", and other martial arts media, was 'sweeping the leg' of the nation in the mid to late '80's. Therefore, the Ninja craze, along with other martial artist toys, was very popular...hence Quick Kick.

HCC, Quick Kick made his debut in the 5 part cartoon series The Pyramid of Darkness. I found it funny that he was found in a snowy waste land, by Alpine and Bazooka, wearing nothing but his pants. All of the other Joes were wearing winter gear. How badass is that? His feet didn't even get frost bitten!!

Quick kick didn't really have a personality in the comics he was pretty dull even when he was part of a big story he wasn't a favorite part I can understand why however judging by how I know Larry Hama writes comics. In the cartoon Quick kick was a fun character and had a lot of personality.

Quick Kick is another example of the Joe's recruiting civilians directly. Barbecue and Shockwave are 2 others. He's mid-tier, upper mid-tier. If they made him as a martial arts instructor it would have made more sense for being barefoot.

I never cared for Quick Kick either. I received the figure as a gift, and I would use him as a Vietnam era version of Storm Shadow, along with Muskrat subbing as Vietnam era Snake Eyes.

I had this figuer when it first came out I thought it was neat then. But it kinda got old fast and I reverted back to my favorite joe version 1.5 Snake Eyes. Since he didn't have a sword or back pack he got Quick Kicks. I want lucky enough to get version 2 of snake eyes I made due with what I had. Still a cool figure though

The no shirt, no shoes was an easy fix, I just swapped out his lower legs with one of the ninja characters, painted his chest black except for the sash, and gave him snake eyes arms, the version with the silver bracelet things.

my biggest complaint with quickkick is that he was sorta a goofball in the animated series. i think ur a bit harsh on him here...yeah he had no shoes...but at that specific time and era...martial arts in American media was a HUGE thing. i think he would have made more sense as an instructor of some sort rather than a field agent. hmmm while maybe not on the top of the first tier list of joes...he still belongs in that grade. one of the better joes IMHO. While cobra had lots of flash and odd combatants...quickkick was a great reminder that the good guys could be out the box and a bit flashy so to speak.

This was one of my least favorite figures...Just doesn't fit the GI Joe image. Why was Hasbro so obsessed with ninjas? I think they were running out of original ideas. They kept making figures to mirror what was going on with top action adventure films. At this point I don't think Hasbro knew what direction to go with thier "military" action figures. They could not leave well enough alone. We have enough ninjas...why another? I know ..we need a Secret Agent Commando Ninja Astronaut Sniper counter intelligence submarine commander that sells ice cream...and weapons. The perfect GI Joe....Oh and he's had seal training .. did I mention Kung Fu?
