Nick Verdonkey is a blessing to High Stakes Poker pros. Always willing to maximize other people's equity. This is a snap call, instead he folds. If the one outer hits, well, that's poker, but with a pair and the nut flush draw you have equity even against a set.
@MisterMaster4life
@MisterMaster4life Жыл бұрын
Poker isn't all about equity..it's also about feeling it or not. Sometimes you feel it...and sometimes you don't. Sometimes you're in position, and sometimes you don't. Calling every all in with a flush draw and someone behind you that 3 betted will surely get you broke sooner than later.
@jeffuryca
@jeffuryca Жыл бұрын
@@MisterMaster4life Either you are not paying attention or you aren't pay in ng attention. Either way, you aren't paying attention. Verdonkey is drawing not to just a flush, but the nut flush. Huge difference. Second and more importantly in this particular case, is STACK SIZE. Not gonna watch this lame video again so I will generalize: Nick bets, dude with two pair raises, dude who eventually shoves reraise all in. STOP! 17,000 in the middle. Nick is, against the all in guys, has a one to eight advantage on the flush and could trip up in his 2, meaning he is way ahead. He is being asked to call roughly 10k, so he is getting 1.7 to one. He is ahead, mathematically and is getting better than one to one so this is an automatic call. But he is "worried" about the guy behind him you say. Why? Dude has 7k behind. All he can do it fatten the pot odds, he cannot reraise! The all in exceeds his stack. If he calls, which is lessened based on Verdonkeys call, Verdonkey gets over 2.4 to one! It's a lame fold. You have to gamble sometimes and the fact that A. He is drawing to the nut flush while B. Has a pair to back that up.meaning he could hit a deuce and win with trips too added to C. The guy behind him is tapped out and cannot reraise makes this a snap call. If you lose to a one outer you lose to a one outer. You are playing scared. That is being a bit and you will never win long term if you are worried about losing all your chips in a single hand bro. Not trying to be mean or start a fight, I am just speaking the truth. Look at the comments in totality. A VAST majority of people who actually PLAY poker profitably, like me, say it is a no brainer call. It's a no brainer call. Worst case scenario dude who makes a straight flush has seven outs, and he does against you, meanwhile you have 8. Again, do the math, you are ahead making better than one to one, call. You only need 2-1 to call a nut flush draw profitably over the long haul, fyi, so even a 1.7-1 call is pretty close. Added to the fact Verdonkey has over 20 in front of him, even if he loses he only lost half his stack. When he folds, he lost and gave up all his equity. Giving up equity without a fight is literally putting cash in a pile and burning it.

The title, and the commentary is possibly the stupidest I have ever seen. Apparently they are counting the fact that Peter didn't show first when he was holding the straight flush as a slow roll.
@darkcrow7383
@darkcrow7383 11 ай бұрын
Realistically, Peter should had more equity than Nick V. Only reason why Nick V was ahead, was because He had bottom pair along with his Nut Flush Draw (A♣️). Now, if Nick didn't have bottom pair and just a flush draw than Peter will be ahead in equity, because Peter had more outs (not just Flush draw, but also gutshot [1 card only] Straight draw). Now, Nick V did an insane fold, his reasoning was off, but understandable. Facing multiple opponents, one of them could have a set, but on the off chance the board will run out paired board is 40/60 or 50/50. Nine out of ten times, you will call or shove all in for the flush draw, especially if you have the matching suit Ace. Luckily for Nick, he would've lost it all had he called the bet. Because once that flush hits on the turn, you are more invested and likely to think you already won, but nothing is certain until the river. As for Nate, it's a tough call, because he has top 2 pairs. With the flush and straight draw out there, he has to be aggressive to get the other opponents to back out, otherwise they'll end up getting what they need. If they do get what they need, then Nate needs a boat/full house to come back on top. It is definitely a 50/50 situation on how the board will run out for him.

Bunch of children commenting on this. First of all, there was no slow roll. You don't know what the term means. Second, IF Nick knew what everyone was holding, he had 37% equity in the hand. When it was Nick's turn to call $10,170 there was $17,860 in the pot. So, yeah, if Nick was psychic and KNEW that Nate was going to call behind him, maybe it was a slightly negative EV fold. But... say Peter had a set (which would make a lot of sense) plus Nate folds behind him? (Which is a good possibility with one all-in and a call.) That would have been a horrible call by Nick. There's a reason why most of you lose money even in your 1-2 limit games in the garage.

I don't see how you can ever fold A2 of clubs there. Yes, you're always behind, but you're up against two people -- and most of the time you'll be up against over-pairs and hands like 6/7. VERY rarely, someone will have one of the other sets -- 666 or 777 (you've got a set blocker with your 2, making that particular set or two pair combo less likely). However, you have ridiculous equity even against sets because of the flush draw and the fact that you have two other people in the pot. As long as your chances of winning are better than 33% (and they usually will be), you should never fold. There's too much equity.

nate being behind saved him so much money, it was a bit of a weird shove though with two people and there being a 3 bet you would have expected one of them to have a higher flush draw and even though the straight flush is at the back of your mind you don't expect it. The only way I see it make sense is if he thought nate was trying to make it expensive to get a flush draw with three 7s or 6s and prayed Nick had King high flush draw would be scared since Peter was the original raiser and could have the Ace.

Nick led out small on the flop..So he can literally have anything. I think the shove is just to iso the 3 better, and thinking Nick will have a hand that has to fold most of the time. I don't think it's that outrageous to shove. A call would've been even more dumb. And a fold is questionable...so I think he did the right thing. Some times you just walk into 2 monster hands when you least expect it. And this was one of those times. No way you've never shoved thinking the whole table folds..and end up with 2 or 3 callers...happens to the best of us.
@dcworld4349
@dcworld4349 Жыл бұрын
@@davidnoriega88 Without a doubt I have done real foolish things with even worse hands. And of course it's always easy to call a play when you see the hold cards. You could show the hold cards and I still would not be comfortable playing at the stakes they are playing so not suggesting I'm somehow a better player. I guess when I look at people who play at this level, I try too look at each hand separately. Removing what I know the hold cards to be and as much as I can. Try and imagine what I think the other people would be holding to see if I can predict how each part of any hand will play out. I guess when I saw the title I expected him to have it before the fishing for as much chips as he could possibly get. So maybe it was my expectation, it just looked like a very scary board. I would of course have hoped for the straight flush, but with the 3 bet. The main thing that would be in my head is one of them must currently have me beat with trips or top two, and the other a higher flush draw. So if I was to shove I'd be because I was praying that the other had a jack or queen high flush draw to scare them off. It's why I said weird, and not the worst, and obviously it paid off.

That's a masterful fold. Done at a level found after...the next level. One that only a pro's pro can ever reach. Ladies and gentlemen....Nick mfng Vertucci. 💯

Not a slow roll. I don't understand why people don't show heads up in cash games like in tournaments. Could we blur out Nick getting massaged?

How could you guys keep saying that he slow rolled, he had nothing but 2 draws, flush & stright flush. What he did have was big balls going all-in with low cards.

Pushes all-in with a gutter straight flush draw? Thats f*cking 1 out!! What a bad play, he would have gone broke 9,999 times if he does this 10,000 times. Dude just a fish thats a luckbox..and what a bad fold by Nick

The cover to this video was deceiving. It made it look like he folded the Ace high flush not the draw.
