Sweet Video mart tire press and polar looks awesome select engineering pressed and tire puller I have different attachments for it I have a pin on the end of my tire press that pushes onto the axle when I am building an axle it goes through the rim I don't know if Harden Creek has that but you can cut an old axle and half and use it on the other end so when you're pushing your pushing on the axle

Definitely a must if you change wheels on cars a lot. It keeps them straight and free from damage.

Great Job my friend:) Looks like with that press, no use worrying about the first hub alignment until you get the 2nd hub align first? I believe Scale Engineering has a press with an adjustable axile depth stop that stops the axle when putting on the crown gear for perfect alignment with no worries after setting the stop where you want it. I also was just looking online today and saw a really nice width gage from RHO for $25.00 > RT-TB13125 1 5/16" TECH BLOCK. Thank you again for sharing:)

Hi Mark, I was looking at these from scale engineering. But they are almost double the asking price. You can get both HCS press and puller. For the price of one scale engineering tool. But HCS doesn't sell the hub adapters.

Yeah, for me that is OK, I only need them for Viper cars though I did read other adapters do work on the HCS press. Are you able to just buy the adapters from scale engineering?

@@marksslotcargarage Yes, I believe the set is about $20. A storage rack is also available at an additional cost. He sells different thumb screws as well. I don't know if they are compatible with HCS. Scale engineering is a bit too pricey for me.

Are those crown made by Roger Porcelli??I bought some 25 tooth Crowns by Porcelli and they don't fit in my super 7.

No, they are RPMs Hyper-Rev gear I got them from HCS. I think they would fit fine in a Super 7. The orange RPM is their Super-Tough gear meant for high speed armatures and higher down force magnets. I think they would be overkill at $6.25 a gear for a stock Super 7 unless you are modifying for Super 7?

Have these tools. Both are excellent. The puller is specifically designed for adjusting or removing hubs with the axle still in the chassis. Perfect for old Aurora AFX since the axle doesn't snap in and out of the chassis. That's what I use mine for. Otherwise I use a larger puller that's stronger. The press has a machined smooth tip on the screw which some don't have. That's helpful in not damaging the hub during installation in some instances. As others have mentioned presses are available with a variety of insert anvils that would be handy with some hub styles but in general the HCS press can do whatever you need it to with or without the insert in place. A matter of carefully centering and eyeing things as you work. As simple as it all seems, in some circumstances "strategy" helps a lot. That doesn't become obvious until you create a bit of a "situation" unintentionally. Never that big of a deal but the fewer times you have to move the hubs the better. Sometimes it works out that pressing a hub on further than where you want it in order to be able to use the end of the axle in the press to install in the other hub. Referring to not marking the inside of the hub with the tool. Some hubs have a fairly delicate design that you may want to preserve. Might not seem to make much sense until you get in this "situation". The point is that the puller doesn't leave marks on the decorative inside of the hub. The press sometimes does. You can press both wheels on using the ends of the axle in the press and pull the first one back out to the position you want it in after the other is in place. I know it sounds confusing. What Mark showed, getting the crown gear positioned before you install either hub is best. That way you can use the press to move it in either direction. A larger puller can be used to adjust the position of the crown gear but I like to avoid contact with the gear teeth so that means only in one direction.

Thanks Jeff, I did realize that the screw end has a hole and will press the axle a bit pasted the end of the hub. It makes sense to just let that happen so you can properly seat the second hub then just go back and pull the first one out a bit.

Sometimes what is necessary to prevent damage to the decorative part of the hub is to remove the brass insert, lay the hub at that place and use the screw to press the axle in. Meaning no contact between hub and screw at all. The flat outer edge of the hub laying against the aluminum tool body. You can hold it from rotating with your finger and thumb if it's chromed or painted to avoid damaging the finish. You already have a good handle on using the tools and most of the aftermarket hubs are pretty easy to work with. Imagine trying to work with some of the fancy MG+ hubs. Great job on the video!
